I am a washing up liquid snob. I will only use fairy liquid. No cheaper version ever gets used in my house and if someone sneaks a bottle in I give it to my dm Grin

Fairy washing up liquid in one of those sponges on sticks makes washing up....amazingingly easy.

MoreThanJustANumber · 25/10/2017 16:46

I used to be a Fairy Liquid fan too but prefer Method now and like the pump top bottle. 95% of stuff goes in the dishwasher so I don't have to buy it very often so the price is less of an issue.

When it comes to dishwasher tablets I prefer Finish Quantum. I only buy them when they are on ridiculously cheap offers and get several then. I've tried various other cheaper ones but find they make my glasses look scratched after a month. I've been using Quantum for several years now and even my wine glasses are still sparkling. That for me is worth the extra cost, I hate polishing wine glasses after hand washing.

I like Fairy Liquid, too - but only the original green one. Not all of these apple and nettle, and lavender and kipper scented

*Possibly not these exact scents

YABU. Ecover all the way!

Sahara123 · 25/10/2017 17:03

Aldi washing up liquid is brilliant and lasts for aaaaages! And I was a Fairy Liquid user.

TlentifiniMaarhaysu · 25/10/2017 17:08

I don't have a favourite washing up liquid, but I do have a least favourite: Morning Fresh smells horrible. I've hated it all my life!

SaucyJack · 25/10/2017 17:12

Fairy Platinum here. I stock up whenever it's on offer. Life is too short to use crap washing up liquid to save a few pence.

Having said that- the Aldi silver one is good too. We just don't happen to shop at Aldi much.

ItWentInMyEye · 25/10/2017 17:18

Aldi platinum convert here! It lasts absolutely ages and you hardly need to put any in. Fab product.

Almostfifty · 25/10/2017 17:24

I can't find the apple one anywhere, and I love it. Sob.

DaisyRaine90 · 25/10/2017 17:27

Me too!!

LuluJakey1 · 25/10/2017 17:30

But that bloody advert for Fairy where the breathy cutesy voiced woman sings 'Hands, noses, ears and .....toes' drives me so mad I have vowed to never buy Fairy anything again- clearly their whole company will suffer as a result of my one woman protest. Grin It is either that or I smash up the tv. I actually prefer Waitrose Essentials.

Summerisdone · 25/10/2017 17:35

Fairy was always the only washing up liquid that didn't send my hands dry and scaly so that's all I could buy, but I've found that I'm fine with Aldi's washing up liquid so that's what I buy now instead.

Willow2017 · 25/10/2017 17:42

Aldi magnum (think thats what its called) beats everything else hands down. Only need a few drops. Lasts flipping ages. Why pay for a brand name when others do the same job for far less?

bertsdinner · 25/10/2017 17:45

I prefer Fairy, I like the way it foams up. No other liquid seems as good. I buy it in Home Bargains, £1.49 for the big 780 ml bottle. Not sure about the advert though, pimping up the baby.

greathat · 25/10/2017 18:15

I buy fairy coz the cheap ones make my husband come out in a rash if he washes up...

elfinpre · 26/10/2017 11:24

The thing that makes a difference with dishwasher is buying a decent brand to start with, good maintenance, so regular descaling treatment and keeping your salt and rinse aid topped up. Then you can buy the cheapest tablets or powders and they will be as good as the ones which cost 3 x as much. That's not just my advice, that was from a dishwasher engineer.

Honeybooboo123 · 26/10/2017 11:44

I buy Method products, does that make me a snob? I prefer the packaging.

rightknockered · 26/10/2017 11:56

I'm the same, only use Fairy washing up liquid. Tried others, they're just a waste of money. I even wash out stains in clothing with Fairy, bloody good stuff
