To Ask Which Supermarket Has The Best Staff?

For me I find Sainsbury's to be around the best, quite a young crowd but don't think I've had an issue.

I dislike the staff at our ASDA Superstore, always standing around in groups and gossiping about something or other, it's really strange and shows how poor the management is.

The Staff at Aldi and Lidl just seem to be super busy all the time.

The one I work in, obviously! (It's a Co Op, by the way...)

I'm so surprised to see Waitrose doing so well here. Our local Waitrose is staffed by older ladies with a bad smell under noses. I get the full-body eyeball whenever I pop in. I can't afford to shop there, but I meet a friend in the caf sometimes. I feel really uncomfortable. They need serious training.

Scholes34 · 18/10/2017 18:20

Waitrose has the best staff . . . because they have the rudest, most demanding customers (that's not to say that all their customers are rude and demanding, but a lot of them are). DD often had fingers clicked at her by customers when she was working there. She only burst into tears once and in time developed a very thick skin, managing to remain polite at all times Grin

Don't like Waitrose but Sainsbos staff are always friendly and efficient.

Waitrose, even at stores without the local guard cat we have.

Morrisons near me has lovely staff, enough that I've clocked their name badges and fed back online. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what they do that's different- mostly that they actually seem to be enjoying themselves.

Hoppinggreen · 18/10/2017 18:41

Round here it's Sainsbury's that are the best
Tesco are a bit grumpy
Aldi act like they are doing you a favour
Lidl run away if they see you coming
Morrisons nice but want to tell you how much they hate their job
M&S want to get rid of you as quickly as possible
No Waitrose

lookingforthecorkscrew · 18/10/2017 18:43

Sainsbury’s are the nicest round here. I just feel very sorry for the LIDL staff, and completely understand why they look so miserable!

AveEldon · 18/10/2017 19:28

Sainsburys are good here
Waitrose used to be a Safeway and retained most of the old staff
They are fine but clearly hate John Lewis click and collect
The store design is dreadful and there are no loos

KimKatCourtney · 18/10/2017 19:32

Coop

Just out of interest ....

Do you earn £8.50 an hour for mind-numbingly boring work, "apologising" to customers because they had to wait 90 seconds for a till to open, do you regularly serve people who can't even drag themselves away from their phones to interact with a cashier, as, you know, a human being?

I don't work in a supermarket and never have, but the only really wanky behaviour I have seen has been on the part of customers, not staff.

Athome77 · 18/10/2017 21:49

Tesco as it’s the only one with scan and shop and then I hardly ever have to talk to any staff.

A few years ago I got a job in Tesco just because the old guy on scan and shop was so nice (but I never had the same shift as him and quit 6 months later, I couldn’t stand the customers).

starzig · 22/11/2017 22:26

Aldi cause they are quick
