OK, share things that "everyone RAVES about" but when you tried it/went there/ate it etc it left you properly underwhelmed and you've almost ashamed to admit it. Don't need to give details or reasons, just name THE THING
I'll start........

Australia

Ophelia?

TealStar · 16/10/2017 07:39

Agree with Aperol Spritz. First time I tried it (in Italy no less, so I didn't even have the context of being in a glorious Tuscan castle as a backdrop) I thought wtf... is that tastless watery shit it? Hmm have they forgotten to put something in it? I then made the mistake of drinking it at a party a year later and a lot of people there were slagging it off saying how grim it was and warning others not to get it!

TealStar · 16/10/2017 07:40

I mean I DID have the context of being in a glorious Tuscan castle blah blah...

TealStar · 16/10/2017 07:42

Agree with most on here. I beg to differ on NZ, Champagne and OITNB as each is my favourite country, drink and TV show but hey we'd be bring if we were all the same!

groups 17 year old girls at 9am down "the Mall" pushing their buggys in T- shirts in the winter with their bellies hanging out, with a bag of muffins in one hand, a can of coke in the other, or cigarette, or coffee in paper cup, & on their smart phones & yapping & taking selfies to post on fb, as if anyone give s a shit, & what are they going to do for the rest of their lives ? have more kids with multiple fathers & live off the state in council houses...
Sorry stereotype, but its what I see when I am in the UK

maddiemookins16mum · 16/10/2017 08:24

Cooldakroom.....really? How utterly ridiculous, just ridiculous. Maybe you should go and lie down in a cooldarkroom or perhaps not visit the UK.

Amy Winehouse. Can't stand her voice

elQuintoConyo · 16/10/2017 08:41

I agree with pp about the influence of the Beatles, but i still find their songs utterly crap and uninspiring. By the end of that list of songs i wanted to throw up.

I agree with Barcelona - it was much better around 2001-2004ish. I live an hour away and can't be bothered to visit anymore.(when i do i stay around Gracia).

George Clooney - not good looking, not talented, not interesting. And definitely NOT the new Cary Grant! How dare he!

Lego versions of films - Star Wars Lego, Batman Lego - now even bloody Ghostbusters Lego! Could we have Gone With the Wind Lego? Or Rebecca Lego? Or Where the Wind Blows Lego?

Spending more than €50 on my hair. No.
Buying my 6yo a tablet for Christmas. No.
Buying a new car. No.
Always being 'beach ready' even though it's February 5th. No.
Cats (sorry!).

Thanks Lymmummy for agreeing with Narbonne, it was quite a random choice!

FourPillars · 16/10/2017 08:47

Switzerland
(Living there, that is, loved it as a tourist but as a local you discover it’s full of xenophobes. I did however come to love Aperol Spritz there)

TiggerSnooze · 16/10/2017 08:53

Ha ha - totally agree on food served on boards / slates. I always ask for a plate 😄
