OK, share things that "everyone RAVES about" but when you tried it/went there/ate it etc it left you properly underwhelmed and you've almost ashamed to admit it. Don't need to give details or reasons, just name THE THING
I'll start........

😲 someone wasn't impressed with WINE?? The nectar of the gods!

I don't get the hype with nandos... or Ikea... was so excited when I first went to Ikea then was do disappointed by the experience! I just didn't get it! Now it's ok but not massively exciting.

Also.. . I heard great things about gas and air in labour... just made me feel sick and made me a little bit crackers... during one back to back contraction I remember saying to DH "it feels like my back is full of cereal boxes" as I said it I sort of came round and thought "wtf?"

TinselTwins · 14/10/2017 20:45

Orla keily. So interchangeable with Cath kitson I can barely tell which is which. I bet it's designed by the same person

GinisLife · 14/10/2017 20:46

This thread makes me feel so much better and that maybe I'm not as grumpy as I thought I was being as I thought I was the only woman on the planet who didn't get the hype over the likes of Tom Hardy, Tom Hiddleston etc.
Also, Jo Malone stuff. Overpriced and doesn't last. Bought an Aldi one today and it's lovely
Cath Kidson /Orla Kiely
Overpriced chain coffee shops (particularly those who don't pay their taxes Grin)

Alcohol. I've just never been fussed about it. I might have a couple of cocktails once or twice a year but wouldn't remotely miss it if i never had it again.

juddyrockingcloggs · 14/10/2017 20:51

This weekends weather.
In fact any weather where the temperature is above 10 degrees.
Rainy weather.
Weather that is not (dry) autumnal or wintery.
summer.
heat.
sunshine unless it is accompanied with frost.
BBQs in summer.
People who call summer and warm weather ‘nice’.
People who say wintery weather is not ‘nice’.

Amsterdam. Both me and DH hated it

TinselTwins · 14/10/2017 20:56

Eating so fresco. Nah. Especially out on a table on a gritty footpath on the side of the road, but even in picturesque settings I'd rather eat without flies in my drink and mozzies going to town on my legs. Eugh. Can't we just sit inside while we eat? Like civilised people?

I live not too far away, and I don't see the appeal. Unless we're talking about the German Christmas market after dark, in which case it's quite magical.

JustHope · 14/10/2017 21:04

Food served on a slate or old chopping boards
Drinks served in old jam jars
Posh delis selling overpriced food in old crates or anything distressed trying to make it look like farmer Joe and his wife have just dropped it off that morning, when actually most of the veg is exactly the same as the stuff in Tescos.

coldcuptea · 14/10/2017 21:04

Some of my favourite things are here . 😡 I'm leaving mumsnet . Bye .

Yy to :
Adele
Ed Sheeran
Game of thrones

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 14/10/2017 21:04

I love Game of Thrones. There, somebody has to stick up for it. Grin I also love The Beatles. Their influence is so huge that I suspect if you grew up after their time you don't even realise the difference they made.

Food served on/in anything but a plate or a bowl designed for the purpose. See WeWantPlates on Twitter for innumerable examples of restaurants trying to be clever (and failing) by presenting food in shoes and the like. Dreadful.

The idea of an all-inclusive holiday makes me feel ill. I'm very greedy and would find it hard not to eat my own bodyweight in what I suspect is probably not very good food. Also, why go abroad and not explore a bit? Beach/poolside holidays are my idea of hell.
