Took my horrible dog for a walk to the beach yesterday.

He loves the beach, it's his best thing ever so thought I'd treat him.

How does the little fucker thank me? By finding, and rolling in a rotting seal.

He absolutely stinks.

He's been in the bath several times, we've got fox poo shampoo which hasn't really helped. I tried tomato ketchup. A friend gave me some shampoo she uses on her horses and swears it gets rid of vile smells but he still bloody stinks.

It's making me gag and we've got some friends over tonight

*I'd had

Owner of a long haired collie roller here and I swear by lush bath bombs. Usually just the robot one that safe for kids but after seal I threw several in to get rid of the smell. At Christmas during a thunderstorm he got in while I was having a particularly glittery bath bomb and he twinkled all Christmas

I don't recommend you stay in the room when they empty your dogs anal glands though.....

I second this . . . pushed our Great Dane off the settee one time and accidentally put pressure on and emptied the glands.

It was DISGUSTING and it REEKED!!!!!!

(And if anyone had had any tips on how to get anal gland contents off flock wallpaper I would have given them a king's ransom. We had to take it off and redecorate)

Ellybellyboo · 16/10/2017 18:41

My vet is in charge of emptying his anal glands. He's only had to have it done once.

I left the room while they did the deed, but went back in shortly after. OMG!!!!!!

I am totally laughing at getting it on your flick wallpaper though. Sorry.

If it's any consolation, we started dog on a new diet a while ago and he was a bit constipated. He was scraping his arse on the cream carpet and left a bloody massive skid mark. Then went back and sniffed it. It was a nightmare to clean off

Remind me again why we have dogs?

Sitting here with 2 stinky dogs...JRT and a Staffie, both of whom have rolled in fox poo. No hot water at as boiler broke, they were not impressed they have been bathed in cold water. Now trying to wash all their bedding and the throw covers from settee, they currently stink of a mixture of wet dog, Fox poo and dog shampoo. ..ugh! .. but still not as bad as dead seal! !

SchadenfreudePersonified · 16/10/2017 20:47

JRT and a Staffie

Never had a JRT - have had 4 staffs. They are the BEST DOGS in the WORLD, but my word, they are windy!

All or our could clear a stadium with their farts. Fox poo (which they also took great joy in) was just the icing on a very smelly cake.

I still love them, but would keep a peg on my nose if we ever got another.

Pandoraslastchance · 16/10/2017 21:35

We've got a beagle/spaniel cross who is very fond of fox poo. We used head and shoulders, cheap tea tree shampoo and the green vosene shampoo. Stinky pooch!!!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 16/10/2017 22:11

We've got a beagle/spaniel cross

Ooooh - sounds like haaard work!

SherbrookeFosterer · 16/10/2017 23:09

Bicarbonate of Soda. As if it were shake n vac; so rub it in, leave it a bit and gently brush it out.

Then Santos de Cartier - one of the ingredients is bees' wax so good for the coat, albeit a bit extravagant, but your dog will smell like heaven!

SherbrookeFosterer · 16/10/2017 23:10

PLEASE be careful you don't get the Bicarbonate of Soda in your dog's eyes though.

spiderlight · 17/10/2017 08:57

Is a beagle/spaniel cross a Bangle?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 17/10/2017 09:50

spider

Grin

Or a Spangle?

Ellybellyboo · 17/10/2017 10:12

OMG - look at the spangle. It's the cutest thing I've ever seen!

My brother has a Staffie. He's a dickhead (the dog, not my brother) and can also clear a room with a single fart

My car is now smelling a lot better. I now have shares in Shake & Vac

My dog is as bad as yours, so I got this for Christmas. I wouldn't have bought it for myself as its expensive, but it has saved my car 7 times in 10 months. So I think it's worth it's weight in gold.

Mine once rolled in a dead squid on the beach. OMG I actually threw up when bathing him. Little shit.

Mine's a chock lab / springer spaniel cross.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 17/10/2017 14:16

Oh Bugger!

I want a Spangle now - she's darling!

Pandoraslastchance · 18/10/2017 13:59

We call her a "speagle". She is noisy like a beagle and incredibly food obsessed.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 18/10/2017 20:13

I can see the food obsession on her face - one of our spaniels has the identical look.
worried that she might explode . . .
ow she has been spayed we are seriously
