saw an old man today happily trundling down the dual carriage way in his mobility scooter with a tartan blanket over his knee, happily waving the cars past.it wasnt just that he was in mortal danger but it was 3 miles to the next slip road and i was worried his battery would run out before he reached it

3andnomore - LOL I particularly enjoyed the fact that they made the point about using them with extreme care on roads in a tiny font unreadable to anyone over 40

I just HAD to open this thread when I saw it on active convos. And loled at the oap road rage, but I agree some of them are really dangerous on those things. They whizz along and don't care who's in the way.

I think they ought to have a speed limitation device on them so they can only go a certain speed. I mean do they have to take an eye test to drive them???? Or any kind of test????

agnesnitt · 11/04/2007 11:37

No test of any sort, you just buy it, charge it up and go. My mum has one as she has crippling arthritis, although her only speed demon moments are in empty car parks, she's a very sedate driver everywhere else

Maybe they should have some sort of mobility scooter licence or test then...lol..I mean, I suppose if you used to be a car driver or motorbiker, then you probably will know the rules to some extent, but if you had been a pedestrian all your life, you might simply don't know, lol!

lol Tinkerbell...yeah, it made funny reading, eh!
