Supermarket conveyer belts.....

So this really gets my back up but have never voiced it before. So there you are at the checkout putting your stuff from your large trolley load of stuff onto the belt and someone comes up from behind and starts putting things on the belt from their basket/trolley. You haven't finished putting your stuff on and before you know where you are their stuff starts moving along the belt. So AIBU and what pleasant comment can I utter when this happens to me again?

Lighthearted, I know there are worse problems but it just gets up my nose.

This used to happen to me all the time in Aldi. Really annoying.
I now position the trolley at the very end of the checkouts at an angle so it blocks anyone getting past and I can unload in peace. I do let people with just a couple of items go in front though. That also gives me a bit more time to unpack the trolley - they are crazy fast in our local Aldi!

@gamerchick oh I’m very excited to use my little old lady powers but sadly I’m a while off and find it so hard to get aggy at them as their little fluffy white hair reminds me of my Nan and she’s ditzy as anything.

Or is she .....Hmm

See now that’s the question isn’t it? Grin

Didn’t you people receive any education? Paddington Bear gives people a very Hard Stare if he’s upset with them.

I wonder if it is to do with the length of the conveyor belt? In our Sainsbury’s they are relatively short. In Lidl they are quite long conveyer belts before, but then have those silly shelves afterwards that are far too short.

I’ve found that farting at will can also be quite effective Grin

I did this by accident in Lidl, rolled up to the checkout on autopilot and started piling my trolley load on the end of the half-empty conveyor. Chap in front muttered that he hadn't finished, of course I apologised profusely but frankly why he hadn't finished putting his basket load on I don't know, maybe he was on autopilot half asleep too.

All the more reason to opt for delivery.
