To think this was pretty rude!

I work in a small office with another woman. She was talking about how her son's tv had broken and he couldn't afford another one for a while. I have a spare one which I offered a spare one I have for the time being until he could afford a new one. It has all the connectors for modern stuff but is very basic. She said that that would be great and I agreed to take it in for her. She then comes back from her lunch break asking if it was hd and when I said I didn't think so she replied " he said he only wants hd as once you've had that you can't go back to regular tv!" Aibu or does that seem a bit rude. I wasn't asking anything for it and she could have just said no. Maybe it's just me but talk about being fussy.

That's a reasonable expectation, Henry.

Tv doesn't have to be hd to play games on.

Why on earth would he dump It? It was only going to be a loan till he got a new one.

Well as long as she said thank you for the offer then i dont think its particularly rude.

Just ignore her, hes 30 living at home and bitching about his broken tv and yours is not good enough for him?
I think you had a lucky escape to be honest!
She started on the lazy entitled child thing long before it was a thing im guessing

Blimey!!! I had s similar conversation with my boss a year or so ago when I refused his offer of a tv for £30, he’d had it for several years and I knew it wouldn’t be suitable for my sons PS, I said it needed a HDMI cable input and he replied “well if your going to be fussy” Hmm

There’s no aerial in my DSs room so he watches normal tv through the PS so anything without a HDMI is useless.
