Vegan coming to stay

My friend is coming to stay for 2 weeks, she is a vegan. Would you buy all the vegan cheese and butter and soy milk etc and different food stuffs for her stay? Or would you take her to the supermarket so she could buy it herself?

Take her, it's easier. She might not like what you buy.

Ifailed Grin that reallly made me giggle too !

I am heavily flirting with veganism
For ethical , welfare , health and environmental reasons it makes so much sense given where we are currently

Humans are such a destructive species

Oat milk is the best milk for tea as it doesn't separate or curdle etc.

Wash your mouth out, sizeofalentil! Oat milk is OK in tea, but it's not a patch on soya milk, which at least turns the tea the right colour, and doesn't taste oaty. Vanilla soya milk is the BEST in tea.

Vegan wine is definitely a thing. Apparently some wine is filtered through fish bladders or something similar so DSD tells me.

She loves violife vegan cheeses and even I thought the soft cheese was quite nice. The ‘cheddar’ was rather rubbery though.

Two weeks is a long time for anyone to stay. You’ll need to ask what she likes as she is still entitled to likes and dislikes even though she has a specific diet.

I would check with her. Some soya milks are really disgusting, (provamel light, unsweetened definitely the best) or she might use rice or nut milks (or none). Also vegan 'cheese' is generally a bit gross. (Violife is not bad) I was vegan for 23 years (pre violife) and wouldn't touch it. Vegan food is pretty normal - Indian curries, pasta and tomato sauce, roast vegetables, Moroccan style tagine etc.
