Just curious. The funniest one I've ever seen was a production of Midsummer Night's Dream in London. Can't even remember who did it! I remember laughing so hard though!

Another for the play that goes wrong

I watched it last Thursday and loved it so much we bought 5 tickets in November for us all to watch it

I went with my dad and brother and my Brother has such a funny laugh Grin

They were both cruing and my brother could be heard whimpering 'please god no more'

BlueberryButtons · 06/10/2017 17:35

Jayne1958 · 06/10/2017 17:42

One man two guvnors, saw it twice - brilliant

GhostsToMonsoon · 06/10/2017 17:44

Avenue Q

Foslady · 06/10/2017 17:59

Another vote for the play that goes wrong - and also avenue q!

SeamstressfromTreacleMineRoad · 06/10/2017 18:13

Definitely The Play That Goes Wrong - saw it recently and had to go for a rest before driving home because I ached all over from laughing so much... Brilliantly written, wonderfully acted and technically just astonishing Grin

Closely followed by One Man two Guvnors with James Corden - he was funnier than I could ever have imagined.

operaha · 06/10/2017 18:18

Does anyone recommend the play that goes wrong?! Grin

No seriously thinking of taking ds 12 to the theatre in half term - is it suitable or adults only?

Foslady · 06/10/2017 18:20

I took my 14 year old and she loved it

Maudlinmaud · 06/10/2017 18:20

The nighthing alive was dark humour which is right up my street. I need to see the play that goes wrong.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 06/10/2017 18:28

operaha

very suitable

Oh god it was funny

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 06/10/2017 18:29

Peter pan goes wrong was on at Christmas

I recorded it and really enjoyed it, have watched a few times since

The play that goes wrong was funnier

sadeyedladyofthelowlands63 · 06/10/2017 19:08

Another vote for One Man Two Guvnors - I have never laughed so much in the theatre in my life.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 06/10/2017 19:16

I'm sooo glad to see so many recommendations for The Play that goes wrong.

I loved Peter Pan goes wrong at Chistmas. So I've booked tickets for the play to go with friends AND to then take my girls later in the same week. A friend of mine said she wouldn't rush back to see it again, so I'm very happy to see it so well recommended.

I loved, and laughed a lot at Junkyard when it toured last year.
And also found the improvised Showstoppers show hilarious - and so clever that they make up a completely new show each night.

Babykoala1 · 06/10/2017 19:38

The Book of Mormon! Seen it twice and would happily go again.

Socksey · 06/10/2017 19:48

Charlie's Aunt.... or Lady Windermere's Fan

Lordamighty · 06/10/2017 19:56

One Man Two Guvnors - saw it with James Corden in the lead role. The Miser with Griff Rhys-Jones & Lee Mack.

Really not keen on The Play that Goes Wrong.

I8toys · 06/10/2017 19:59

Play that goes wrong, Peter Pan that goes wrong, comedy about a bank robbery - anything Mischief Theatre company does

I8toys · 06/10/2017 20:00

My ds's have seen them all - 11 and 13 at the time

treaclesoda · 06/10/2017 20:00

I've only ever seen one play in my entire life. But it was A Comedy of Errors and it was very funny. So I'd have to say that's the funniest play I've ever seen.

CaptainHammer · 06/10/2017 20:03

I’ve seen Avenue Q 6 times so another vote for that!

The Play That Goes Wrong is hilarious. The Peter Pan and bank robbery one are great too but TPTGW is my favourite. Mischief Theatre are working on a new one too Grin

@drmadelinemaxwell I hope you like it. There’s quite a lot of slapstick style humour so maybe your friend didn’t like that? I went because DH wanted to see it thinking it wouldn’t be to my taste but absolutely loved it!

allibaba · 06/10/2017 20:03

The importance of being Earnest. It had an all male cast, some of whom were therefore in drag including the guy that played Geoffrey in Waiting for God who was Lady Bracknell.

It was hilarious!

Cadsuane · 06/10/2017 20:25

Didn't like Avenue Q.
The Thirty nine steps was so funny as was Arsenic and Old Lace with Sylvester McCoy as Peter Lorre's character.
But funniest was Rik Mayall in the stage version of The New Statesman.

And randomly I just bought tickets for The Play that goes wrong about 5 minutes before I clicked on this thread.

Bluelonerose · 06/10/2017 20:55

Puppetry of the penis Grin
It was hilarious 2 naked men twisting their bits into different shapes Grin

Str4ngedaysindeed · 06/10/2017 20:57

Showstoppers! Absolutely brilliant. A group of actors who improvise the whole show based on what the audience decides they should be acting and singing about. So clever. Also 'Silver Lining' by Sandi toksvig.
