to think that having a day off work doesn't mean I should be doing household chores?

I've been feeling really rundown and knackered lately. I've had a stinking cold that's dragged on and on and I just feel a bit shit.

I've taken 2 days annual leave from work - today and tomorrow as I just fancy some time to chill a bit

I have done some stuff today - stripped and changed beds, cleaned bathrooms, a couple of loads of washing, stuck the hoover over downstairs and cooked dinner. Other than that, I've watched crap telly, spent a couple of hours sewing and had a nice mooch on the beach with the dog.

DH has come home from work and asked what I've done all day. He's got shitty - I could have mowed the lawn, we're decorating DD1's bedroom so I could have put another coat of paint on the walls, etc, etc

I'm off again tomorrow and had planned on continuing with DD's room then, but today I just wanted a lazy day. Is that really terrible?

He's really pissed me off actually

How is “- stripped and changed beds, cleaned bathrooms, a couple of loads of washing, stuck the hoover over downstairs and cooked dinner” lazy?!

Ellybellyboo · 06/10/2017 09:24

It's not really lazy I suppose, it only took a couple of hours and the rest of the day I did fuck all really so I feel a bit guilty

DH has since apologised for being an idiot

Feel a lot better today, managed a good nights sleep (I've had a bit of insomnia lately) for the first time in ages.

Am going to take doggo to the beach then treat myself to some new fabric in town

Thanks!

You need to tell him you've got can'tbearseditis. Maybe suggest you both take a can'tbearseditis day off together!

Today is my" day off " as in I'm not working, have done all the housework, don't have any grandchildren to look after and I'm not running my mil to hospital as dad's very ill. I do enough for everyone else the rest of the time so today I got up late, I'm meeting a friend later and will pop to the shops.
However I know that at any time I could be asked to pick up grandkids/ go to hospital/ emergency stuff etc so when I KNOW that that isn't on the cards I'm doing sod all because I can.
Have a day off, buy your craft stuff, take the dog out. I'm half heartedly putting the washing out but that's it for the day, cos I can!
