Namechanged.

I am NEVER unwell. I'm 45, regular cycle, and last two weeks I'm out of breath a lot, absolutely knackered and taking naps every day, and v bloated lower abdomen. I'm wearing normally I think, but always feel so bloated. I've got indigestion if I eat too fast (again never a problem previously) and I've got constant lower back ache. And one elbow hurts too!

I'm not celiac, not anaemic, not b12 deficient (had recent blooods for something else) but something feels different.

If I see the doc they're likely to say "hormones, go away" aren't they?

Can anaemia cause chest pain? I'm quite uncomfortableSad

You did the right thing, are having the right tests done and have had the doctor look you over. Google isn't your friend at this point. Hope you feel better soon Flowers

It can, and palpitations. Breathlessness is one of the first signs for me along with severe fatigue. Please try not to worry. Your doctor sounds excellent and is doing all the right things.

Ollivander84 · 05/10/2017 01:23

If the chest pain is crushing or you are clammy or nauseated or become suddenly more short of breath or the pain goes into your arm, neck, upper back or jaw please ring 999

Breathless was one of my symptoms. The GP didn't quite get it until I said the pavement looked very comfortable for a nap Grin when she did Confused face and sent me for bloods to find I was badly anaemic. I kept crying all the time too, but probably because of tiredness

Don't google, honestly. I got sent to haematology (for another blood problem) as an emergency and had practically made myself sick with worry. It was fine, I got a diagnosis, I take meds and that's it!

dressinblack · 05/10/2017 01:31

I had very similar symptoms and it was eventually diagnosed as endometriosis. It started in June and I had my diagnostic laparoscopy 3 weeks ago where they also removed the endo. I'm back to normal as of this week and the symptoms have dramatically reduced.

It was a pretty shitty few months of pain and being fobbed off to get here though.

Charolais · 05/10/2017 01:55

OP sometimes stress/anxiety can cause chest pain. Take deep slow breaths. You’ll be okay.

Worriedobsessive · 05/10/2017 22:43

Soooo, went back to doc today with breathlessness, dif GP but he had the chest X-ray and urine culture (fine) and the bloods, and said I had to go for a transfusion, at hospital. Off I went, they did more obs, and then for no good reason, I fainted. It was horrible, everything went pixelated, and I came to on a trolley. They gave me oxygen and I felt better. Had more bloods and more X-rays, and they want me back tomorrow for a CT scan as I had a raised D Dimer. Have also had a clexane injection.
Am tired as anything, I wish they'd just give me iron and let me go but it was 88 and they don't give infusions unless it's under 80. (That's despite the gastro ref saying do it, but he was overruled by the a&e cons.)
Tired and still chest achy. And a bit fed up but at least I've got my own bed tonight.

Worriedobsessive · 06/10/2017 16:28

Went back today as instructed and have had 1000mg of iron infused, and have to go back next week for another one, plus CT scan because if the D Dimer level. Am feeling a bit better already!

I have these symptoms too , I'm further down the line and am waiting for a date to have my gall bladder removed as I have gall stones, the pain is a lot less on a low fat diet, which is so good to know. Hope it's nothing serious

Worriedobsessive · 06/10/2017 17:59

I had my gall bladder out a few years ago and certainly felt better after it.

Worriedobsessive go to the doctor. Do not expect to be unceremoniously dismissed and do not allow yourself to be either.

Thanks
Fairybella · 06/10/2017 22:02

Hope ur ok op and feeling better

Worriedobsessive · 06/10/2017 22:42

Feeling much better thank you, chest pains have subsided too. The clexane injections are a nuisance but reassuring at the same time.

So, CT scan booked for Thursday and more iron on a drip on Friday. Still bloated and tired but vast improvement on how I was.

Thanks all!

I had the CT scan on Thursday, it was all clear and fine. They did more bloods but my hb was still very low and they don't know why and had only risen by 0.3 so I have another infusion today. My arms are very sore and bruised. They couldn't get the canula in on Thursday and after 3 attempts went for just behind a knuckle on the back of my hand. Sad Then when it was being removed, the healthcare assistant took it out whilst I was sitting in the waiting area and was joking with the man next to me, and leaned over to touch his dressing at the same time as pulling the dressing off my hand. Angry I thought it was very unprofessional.

Anyway, does anyone have any tips for easy cannulation this morning? Both inner elbows are black and blue, my right hand is covered in bruises and no one has ever ever managed to get anything at all from my left hand.

If I didn't feel so crap I wouldn't go.
