I'm upstairs watching Netflix, home alone until midnight. I thought I heard the landline phone ring downstairs but by the time I had muted the TV it had stopped so shrugged it off.

I've heard it twice since then. No one rings the landline, ever. Ex directory, no sales calls etc and it's 9.30 on a Saturday night anyway.

No big deal you might think, so I went downstairs to ring 1471 out of curiosity.

The fucking phone is off the hook.

Doors are all locked etc so I can only conclude that there is a ghost fucking with me or Bad Girls has the same fucking phone as me!! Now hiding back upstairs and a bit jumpy, every car door slam is an axe murderer coming for me. Help!

Thanks SteamTrains, yes, it worked when I clicked on the picture. Blush That's MUCH MUCH scarier than phones ringing when they're off the hook! Shock😂

Ducknose I have EHS too, for me it's someone banging a piano. I know that's in my head, as these flats aren't big enough for pianos! 😂

Maybe relevant, but if you have an Android mobile, and someone has been messing (or you were "experimenting") if Google Assistant is enabled from the lock screen, then your phone will be listening for your voice and might be reacting to "commands".

We had this a few months ago. 3 evenings in a row my mobile (which sits in the kitchen) rang MrsLHs mobile all by itself Shock. Or so we thought. Turned out Google Assistant was set to be "always on when on charge" and had heard something which must have sounded like "OK Google, call last number".

(I imagine there could be a similar situation with Siri ?)

All of these "listening" gubbins are starting to be a nuisance. I believe there's a fad for some juveniles to shout "DICK PICS" in crowded places. Apparently. Hmm

Here's some info from Google. You can actually replay the audio clip which triggered an action (at which point you start to wonder about machine "intelligence").
