AIBU - not sending a thank you card after wedding?

Just that really. I went to a friends wedding early august and I've not recieved a thank you card, nor have others who attended. Maybe I'm a traditionalist but I just consider it quite rude to not send a thank you following a wedding? Is this a thing now?

My friend got married in August and hasn't had her official photos back yet. Most people like to send a card with a wedding photo on the front. Also, I think etiquette says you have 6 months. I'm sure I read it was a year in Ireland!

Oh for goodness sake, the professional photographer doesn't have a monopoly on photos taken at the wedding. Someone somewhere can come up with a good photo in much less than the 6 months it takes the professional. Seriously, it's just good manners to write to say thank you sooner rather than much later. Newly weds don't need to make what they write the thank yous on such a big deal, especially if it causes such a big delay.

Sorry, not getting the point here. Of course, the thank you card will need to match the central theme and colour scheme of the wedding, otherwise it's so unacceptable.

I've never had a thank you card for either attending or a gift, and nor would I expect one. It's very strange etiquette when you get thanked at the time. A card is surely only appropriate in the event that a gift is given remotely and there isn't an opportunity to thank everyone on the day.

I actually have an etiquette book if anyone wants me to look anything up Grin.
