By adding lashings of cinnamon: porridge, weetabix, apple crumble, curry, stir fry etc

Am quite surprised at the number of people who hate cinnamon. I think it goes well with apples, but that's just my opinion. Everyone likes different things.

PolkadottyRose · 27/09/2017 20:06

I love cinnamon. But not on my cheese and pickle toastie.

PinkHeart5913 · 27/09/2017 20:06

Yabu

Cinnamon is the worst and I'm always so disappointed when I bite in to some apple pie to be overwhelmed with the stuff 😷

InsomniacAnonymous · 27/09/2017 20:07

I detest cinnamon.

FoofFighter · 27/09/2017 20:12

Expected cheese 🧀
Or at the very least Yorkshire Pudding Hmm

BuzzKillington · 27/09/2017 20:15

Cinnamon is just a bastard. I would banish it along with coriander, cardamom, nutmeg and cloves.

Smidge001 · 27/09/2017 20:17

You should live in Australia. They go massively overboard on cinnamon.
Also vanilla. You can't buy fresh custard there that isn't vanilla flavoured Angry

topcat2014 · 27/09/2017 20:20

I also thought cheese

Reppin · 27/09/2017 20:21

Move to the US op, everything has cinnamon in it. I used to think I quite liked cinnamon, but actually it is disgusting

Curiously Cinnamon cereal is utterly delicious on it's own, but otherwise, I'm not overwhelmed by the need to add it to everything. Tagines need it.

Smoked paprika, however...

NameChangeFamousFolk · 27/09/2017 20:25

Cinnamon is just a bastard

I love cinnamon, but I can think of many meals that wouldn't be improved by it - egg and chips, beans on toast, fish pie, shepherd's pie, beef and ale stew, most soups, the list goes on.

LuckLuckLUCK · 27/09/2017 20:26

Fresh custard is vanilla flavoured Confused

Surely 'lashings' is a term that should only be used for liquid type foodstuffs?

FinnegansCake · 27/09/2017 20:27

I'd be so grateful if someone else cooked for a change that I'd happily eat cinnamon in whatever they prepared. Even sprinkled in a sandwich [fed up of cooking]

BertieBotts · 27/09/2017 20:28

WTAF are you talking about OP, get out!

Cinnamon is awful but goes okay on apple things and surprisingly well in a tomato sauce. That's all. Anything solely cinnamon flavoured should be put in the bin.

ShovellerDuck · 27/09/2017 20:30

Cinnamon is everywhere now, surely an American thing? I hate it and never tasted it in bought foods until about ten years ago. I blame American coffee chains, they like cinnamon in all their cakes and pastries. Horrible stuff!

Lovemusic33 · 27/09/2017 20:30

Hate cinnamon.

Love cheese.

Acopyofacopy · 27/09/2017 20:31

YABU. A tiny punch in sweet dishes is allowed. Cinnamon should never go anywhere near savoury.

Cheese is the answer, btw. Jam and cheese sandwich!

Acopyofacopy · 27/09/2017 20:31

A pinch, definitely not a punch!!

londonrach · 27/09/2017 20:32

Yuk. Keep your cinnamon away from my food. Cinnamon should be banned! (Shudder)

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 27/09/2017 20:33

I prefer Birds custard. Vanilla custard is a bit much. Especially when combined with cinnamon-contaminated apple puddings.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/09/2017 20:34

A little cinnamon is great in the lamb sauce for moussaka. I'm also very partial to a cinnamon and raisin bagel. I don't see it as a US thing. It's always been popular in Europe.

TizzyDongue · 27/09/2017 20:34

Cinnamon wasn't exactly the answer I was thinking of.

Ginslinger · 27/09/2017 20:35

oh gasp0de I came on here to say the very same thing re the moussaka
