To not understand the point of black cabs now?

Aside from all the uber controversy (i use addison lee and local minicabs) can someone please tell me - what is the point of black cabs in 2017?!

They are insanely expensive, surely the knowledge is irrelevant now that everyone has satnav and they love going the long way round to get extra £££? This has happened to me a few times. Cab to the airport using my local minicab which sends driver details and tracking is £18. With a black cab the estimate is 'about £80'. Surely they are no longer sustainable due to prices? Am I missing something? Who are all these people who pay black cabs their ridiculous prices?

You can tell it's Friday as all the lobbyists are desperately trying to earn their crust.

i tell you what Franklin seeing as this is playing out in court right now how about we wait till it concludes and look again at the evidence then?

I suspect the judgement will be upheld but I also suspect you will still refuse to accept the new judgement anyway.

I feel I did the best I could at explain why I believe the in the court judgement. I have quoted directly from it and you have dismissed these quotes as lies.

I tend to split my time 50/50 between lobbying and giving advice to Mumsnet regarding central heating issues. I have sentimental reasons for backing black cab drivers. They are my reasons alone.

So many black cab drivers are so scruffy. Look like they are just off to the pub to watch a game or paint the spare room.

They really do need to smarten up and sell themselves as a premium product.

So many cabs look tacky covered in adverts also.
