I was so looking forward to getting into a clean, freshly made bed today. DD (5) became interested when I turned, fluffed and smoothed the feather mattress topper. She looked on while I carefully unwrinkled a fresh fitted sheet. She watched avidly while I painstakingly plumped all six pillows. She even lent a hand while I changed the duvet cover, and listened to all my instructions while we put it on the bed together. We stood back and gazed with pride at our handiwork, soft as a cloud and unruffled as the water on a still lake. Then the little ratbag took a running jump, belly flopped into the middle, and gleefully rolled all over it until every inch resembled a badly flipped pancake. FML. 🙄

I am currently too sick to go to work (bad cold). So is DP (manflu and imminent death). Can we enjoy our time off being sick and huddling under the duvet all day watching crap TV? We cannot. The toddler is also off sick. Bloody kids.

Alexandra87 Yep a bath is always ruined by a poo... followed by second DC entering bathroom shortly followed by 2 dogs (who know they aren't allowed upstairs) then finally DC 1 & 2 proceed to strip and get in the bath too...

Having my dc made me become intolerant to red wine. Do I win?

When one of the kids finds the Mr Kipling lemon slice I've been saving for myself as a treat and eats it. Or worse, doesn't even eat it but takes a few bites and then leaves it somewhere unhygienic like on top of the bin. Whadda waste and so frustrating...

Every time I run a bath for myself, my almost 3YO DS strips off and insists on getting in with me.

Even when he's tucked up in bed and fast asleep, he hears that running water (bedroom right next to bathroom) and is in the bathroom getting naked within minutes Angry

I live for the weekend that he spends at his dad's each month, just so I can enjoy a nice, peaceful bath to myself once a month.

I have a 2 week sick-note long-running anxiety, just admitted it and am trying out medication. OMG the relief! and was looking forwards to crocheting/internet stuff/TV/ just relaxing. DD1 (8) has just had 3 days off with a virus. Today was borderline on going or not as she's on the mend and was bored. No peace and quiet.

She's going to school tomorrow! have a creative writing buddy coming round and the words aren't stuck and longer

No kids but a couple of weeks ago I arrived home at 9pm after a holiday, and a very long trip back, which included running through the airport like a mad woman to catch my train, which I missed by 4 minutes and then had to wait for an hour for the next one...
Arrive home to find the house smells a bit horrible... After sniffing around, I discover a cat poo in the spare room /study, under the desk. Nicely dried into the carpet :(

Immaculate get-up for third & final interview, pencil skirt and heels. DC applies Velcro to perfect gloss tights. Confused

OP I would do the exact same to my DM now! My dc3 did this with new bedding the other day but then so did the dog after him before bed.

Can guarantee during relaxing bath a DC or DH will need the toilet. At the very least the cat or dog will come in.

I watch 1 soap religiously but you can guarantee someone will come to talk to me during it. I ask for half an hour of relative quiet a day!
