Where to find weekend day or evening work ?

I am a SAHM who needs to earn some money for school trips. Child care would equal wage during the week, so looking for weekend day or weekend night work.

I have had a wide range of jobs pre children. However I now have a bowel illness which leads to times when I have to get up and run to the toilet and may be some time in the bathroom, especially if I need to clean up.

Sometimes I am very bad (especially early mornings) and from time to time when I might have to stay home for a couple of days.

Sometimes I am fine. But I have no idea when I will start to be unwell again.

Therefore any job which does not give me unlimited no notice required (I often only get under a minute urgency) access to a free toilet would be unsuitable.

I need a drop and go type job.

Any ideas what jobs might be suitable for me and where I could start looking ?

What about babysitting? Around here it's £10 an hour and as a mother of several children you would be popular

Thank you for that link.

That is what my DH wants me to apply for until I can find work. But I doubt I will meet the criteria, I am ill enough to make my life a misery but I doubt I am entitled to that kind of help.

It took me two years to apply and get my radar key and can't wait card. Just keep hoping I will make up one morning well, so I can restart my life again.

Maybe I will do both freelance work and apply for pip see how both goes.

It isn't crones, it is a different bowel disease. I have a diagnosis and am on the appropriate treatment, it just doesn't work 80% of the time.

I have a gp appointment this week and I am requesting a referral back to the consultant to see if there is anything else he can suggest/offer.

But that will take a few months.

As my illness is classed as a disability, potential employers should make allowances but in reality are more likely to take on another more healthy person.

Guess I am also worried as several people with the same illness (I know via a support group) are being badly treated by work, who can't or don't want to make allowances. It worries me that a job I might find would do the same.

Babysitting at night is an option. Of course I can't take them out to the park or anything. It has to be inside babysitting.

I think the key to a successful PIP application is supply all the evidence you can. They say they will write to your GP etc Etc but in reality they don't.

In terms of health and wellbeing a job is much more satisfying overall but it's incredibly difficult to work with active bowel disease.

Ky Flowers Yes, I imagine it is difficult.

Still hoping for a miracle cure. Every time I think things have settled down, I get a flare up that could last for weeks. It is very annoying.

@Cailleach666 I'm being nosey now but feel free to not want to answer my question - how much do you earn a year from eBay?

And OP try upwork.com for freelance work

Dixiestampsagain · 19/09/2017 12:44

PIP is not affected by whether or. It you work, you are allowed to claim it and work; its ESA that is paid when you can't work because of health. I receive PIP and my DH wants me to look into ESA as I'm unable to work outside the home at the moment, which is very limiting.

Cailleach666 · 19/09/2017 14:07

mrpotato- I don't mind saying. I make £50K profit a year, usually working 15 hours a week, more in the lead up to christmas, when it can be quite busy.

WeekendWork · 19/09/2017 19:33

Wow, that is amazing. I would be happy earning £50 a week !
