So frustrated with Hotmail

Was wondering earlier why my Hotmail emails weren't sending, and apparently it's being reported that Hotmail's down for loads of users and they don't know when the problem will be sorted.

AIBU to be really frustrated?

my emails in my Outlook account are stuck in draft. Bloody frustrating

Just got one email through in real time but loads inbetween missing...

Weird mine is working, has been all day, why would it only be going wrong for some and not others?

Glad it's not just me! Was going to have nightmares tonight about switching full time to gmail. Just a pain in the arse more than anything.

Ohh all my drafts have been 'sent' in the last 10 minutes, so maybe things are working again.

I use my hotmail account through an app called Spark. Have sent and received emails today. Just double checked and they're all sent. Not had any problems whatsoever.

Me too! A whole slew of emails I tried to send this afternoon have suddenly sent.

So annoying. My main personal account is with Gmail, but I still use my old Hotmail address for buying/selling things online, mailing lists, etc, as I don't want to clutter up my Gmail with that sort of thing.

Particularly annoying because I'm paranoid Ryanair will cancel my flight on Saturday - but I use my Hotmail address with them.

I've been using Hotmail for over 20 years. Why shouldn't I?

Hotmail will experience more down time/longer down time than GMail (as an example) as they have vastly less servers, they are pretty outdated and more susceptible to issues.

Why does it matter what email address other people use?

Ha! Email address snobbery. Only on Mumsnet...

The only thing that has arrived into my Hotmail inbox since about 8 this morning has been from Gransnet, which normally comes around 10-11am. It came an hour ago. All power to the silver surfers.

AlpacasPackOwls it can matter alot, certain providers have lower MB limits per email, won't allow certain size files etc. The company I work for has an email "pull in" function and quite a few older formats won't work with it due to the size of emails/attachments/security/caching etc

No need for the sarcasm is there, it's an honest, not rudely put, answer as to why it could/does matter but won't bother next time.

So what other free services are people using?

Outlook Exchange has been 'off' all day. We had issues at work.

Ok... Ermm I work for a software company so no sobbery over email provider at all and you asked a question so I offered two informed answers. I'll leave you to it as you obviously just want to rant.
