Well I haven't said no as such but I've suggested we don't go.

He's basically won tickets to Later With Jools Holland. Liam Gallagher will be there as well as others.

We won tickets a couple of years ago too and met Noel Gallagher.

Thing is, it's next week. Mid week which means I'd need to take two days off work which I won't get paid for. Also, we live in Hull and it's in Kent so a long drive and petrol costs as well as the cost for a hotel over night.

We can afford it but we're going away to the Far East in 6 weeks and have still not paid that off (it's on a 0% credit card so no big deal) but we also need spending money. PLUS my MOT is due next month and the car is 11 years old so likely to need something at least.

I know he really wants to go but he's said he's ok with not going. Now I feel guilty!! I've said if he really wants to go we will but now that I've said that he probably won't go.

Was I being mean? It's rare that these tickets come up.

You only live once. Go

dontstophelping · 18/09/2017 12:53

Go! I'd give my right arm to go! Life is so fucking short. Both my Dad and Gran are very sick and keep telling me to do fun things and enjoy myself while I still can. Go go go!

Unless you don't want to. Then don't. Grin

dontstophelping · 18/09/2017 12:54

See you're going now. Yay!

StickySweatyArseCrack · 18/09/2017 12:54

I have a feeling he will reply saying he thinks I was right and we shouldn't go - now you lot have excited me about going we'll end up arguining about me wanting to go and him wanting to save the money 😂

Don't back down. Tell him you are really looking forward to it, and can't wait to get him alone in a hotel. Have some fun!

ZenNudist · 18/09/2017 12:58

Id go. Youve met noel now meet liam. Opportunities like that dont come up often. Collect the set! Can you imagine for the next few decades every time it comes up that hes met noel Gallagher he will think i could have met liam too!

AnnieAnoniMouse · 18/09/2017 12:59

😂

Just book a hotel & send him the link

lynmilne65 · 18/09/2017 13:02

Is a one off, I would go

ReanimatedSGB · 18/09/2017 13:03

You should go. Banning treats to save money (rather than because having the treat will mean not eating this week or your DC not having a warm coat or something) is a miserable way to live - you're not on the bones of your arse.

lynmilne65 · 18/09/2017 13:03

'spunked' what a truly horrible wordAngry

StickySweatyArseCrack · 18/09/2017 13:12

Who said spunked??!

I'm glad you're going - life really is too short and you can economise later.

I've been with DH. Applied on the off chance (was applying for Strictly and Pointless tickets for my Mum!).

My big tip is to arrive early and make the most of the green room bar. They allocate numbers on a first come first served basis and don't guarantee entry. We arrived in what we thought was good time but got numbers in the last group. They squeezed us in at the back.

We were chatting to a guy who was a massive fan of the show who had waited 6 years for tickets. I was so embarrassed that I'd only applied 2 weeks previously that we agreed that if they couldn't squeeze everyone in we would let him and his friend take our places. Luckily everyone was accommodated!

You'll have great fun. It's also really interesting to see a live show recorded (and how grumpy Jules Holland is!)

StickySweatyArseCrack · 18/09/2017 13:16

Haha funny you should say that pookie, we were amazed last time at what a miserable sod Jools is! He had a face on up until the cameras started rolling then dropped into a grump again as soon as it went off air. As soon as it finished he stormed out without saying a word to anyone!! Noel was much friendlier x

Can't you treat the two days off as your weekend? IF you get to choose when you work>
