To think of course women's breasts are sexual

Many many times I've seen people on here getting very indignant about people suggesting that women's breasts are sexual - "they're primarily for feeding babies", "they're purely functional", "they're no different to men's breasts", "women should be free to go topless just as much as men", etc.

I completely disagree! Women's breasts are a source of sexual pleasure from puberty till... I don't know, death?! I b/f all three of mine, which was a total time of 2 years, but for the other 30-odd years their only role has been sexual pleasure, for me and/or for whatever partner I've been with.

Am I completely deluded??

Our bodies are designed to attract a mate and procreate. Nature makes sex pleasurable so we'll do it more and have babies. So sexual pleasure doesn't really mean much does it?

It's like saying your face is there for sexual attraction, oh no hold on it's there for expression. The body is efficient and has lots of different functions.

Shadow666 · 18/09/2017 12:39

If you go swimming and afterwards take a shower and get changed in a communal changing room do you feel sexual? I hope not because it's not a sexual situation. Feeding a baby isn't a sexual situation so there is nothing sexual about it.

Iheartjordanknight · 18/09/2017 12:41

Nature made your breasts erogenous zones. That's why we like them.

Fireandflames666 · 18/09/2017 12:44

Mens nipples can also be a source of pleasure during sex. Should we make them keep their tops on too?. As you know, that means men and womens are sexual.

What a joke. Both men and women should be allowed their tops off. Equality.

snash12 · 18/09/2017 12:45

Don't believe the Saudi comment btw. A stray strand of hair is culturally forbidden yet its acceptable to whip 'em out in public

That's actually true.

kaytee87 · 18/09/2017 12:50

They are both to most people however i get no sexual pleasure from my breasts, I hate having them touched.

OuiNonOui · 18/09/2017 12:51

Ankles were sexual and couldnt be shown 150 odd years ago, so I think breasts being sexual is purely social.

If you wanted to, you could sexualize anything right?

Iheartjordanknight · 18/09/2017 12:55

Yes but ankles are actually sexual are they? Not many people use ankle rubbing in their foreplay. Not many people can orgasm from a bit of ankle licking. Breasts are absolutely sexual. Male nipples are erogenous zones but nowhere near as sensitive as women's

I'm really struggling to understand how anyone can say they're not sexual

WhitePhantom · 18/09/2017 12:55

Nature made your breasts erogenous zones. - see that's what I think!

But is that the case, or is it society that made them sexual? Nature or nurture? I come down very much on the nature side of things - I think I'd find them erogenous zones regardless of society's sexualisation, but I suppose society has greatly heightened the sexual aspect.

But ankles don't have millions of extra nerve endings that make them highly sensitive, whereas nipples do. Anything can be 'made' sexual, but some things just 'are'. I think.

meltingmarshmallows · 18/09/2017 12:58

@WhitePhantom No I think for those of us who have sensitivity there, it's not a Western nurture thing ... they are most definitely erogenous zones!

Reading the thread is fascinating, but I notice a lot of those answering state they feel nothing special there, so it's a different perspective.

Personally they're very sexual, so agree they are both! Just as you have a period every month and wee from the general area but still consider your vagina sexual.

Iheartjordanknight · 18/09/2017 13:01

Whether or not a woman is turned on by having her breasts touched isn't so relevant I don't think- millions of women haven't found their g spot but it's still there. There is no argument nipples have additional nerve endings for sexual pleasure

Ktown · 18/09/2017 13:09

breasts were excessively made to be a fetish back in the 1980s with page 3. i remember it well that everyone was banging on about them back when i was a kid.

their existence is for breastfeeding though. they might serve other purposes, but like someone else said above - the reason females have wide pelvises is for giving birth.

there is a balance. of course they can be attractive but the UK was fascinated for a long time.

GinandGingerBeer · 18/09/2017 13:09

Multifunctioning. Just like a cock.

ShakeShakeTheMuffin · 18/09/2017 13:09

'Saying breasts primary function is bfing is a bit like saying hips primary function is childbirth'

Really?

Breasts are mammary glands so their purpose is to produce milk. The sexual thing is a nice bonus. Hips however are part of our skeleton and their main purpose is to join the legs to the torso and help us move about! It's handy if they're wide enough to allow a child's head through....

bogofeternalstench · 18/09/2017 13:10

My husband's nipples are 10 times more sensitive than mine. I get no sexual pleasure at all from my breasts whilst the same can definitely not be said for him.
So.. should he be covering up while I can go topless?

BananaShit · 18/09/2017 13:16

The mammary glands function is to produce milk... but the breast tissue doesn't do that. Only nipples and glands needed. I assume we all know there's no correlation between breast size and the amount of milk a woman can produce? I was under the impression we didn't actually know why humans grow breasts, since the tissue definitely isn't needed for feeding and clearly human cultures exist where breast tissue isn't sexualised.

Iheartjordanknight · 18/09/2017 13:18

Well no bog, because you aren't the only woman in the world Confused

Surely that is a definitive answer from this thread alone then, OP?

No, women's breasts are not particularly sexual. They are a body part that some women sexually enjoy having touched, just as some women find it sexually enjoyable to have their feet, neck, arm, hip, waist, leg, knee, shoulder, back or whatever touched.

But the actual purpose of legs is locomotion. The purpose of a neck is to support the head. The purpose of a breast is to feed a baby.

Breasts are a sign of reproductive maturity, but so are hips, waists, faces, shoulders and overall height.

misshelena · 18/09/2017 13:37

Who's sexual pleasure though? Not mine

Seriously?

OP, I agree with you -- sexual first, with added functionality during limited periods.

SylviaPoe · 18/09/2017 13:43

I don't get any sexual pleasure from having my breasts touched either.

Lethaldrizzle · 18/09/2017 13:49

It's not just about whether you like having your breasts sexually touched or not, many women, at some point in their lives have most likely used their breasts to enhance their appearance (except for those who don't do it for cultural/religious reasons) - such as a low cut dress, tight top, push up bra etc.

SylviaPoe · 18/09/2017 13:51

Many body parts are part of enhancing appearance, for both sexes.

gillybeanz · 18/09/2017 13:52

Men find women's breasts sexual.
After many years of men talking to my well endowed dsis breasts instead of her, she married the first man who gave her eye contact.
Not saying the men are right or wrong but it's obvious men have a huge attraction to breasts.
