To think this is the height of neighbour nosiness?

Doing work on my new place (flat), I currently don't live there. The workman parked his van blocking one of my neighbours.

She came over to ask him to move (obviously fine as he shouldn't have obstructed her). She then asked if she could have a look around at the work that had been done to the place so far.

Aibu to think she's a nosey busy body?

I can't imagine being bothered tbh. I'm one of those people who don't like being disturbed by someone knocking at the door, but that's connected with feeling vulnerable, especially on my own at home or with the DDs.

Our NDNs got very upset when they were blocked in by builders when we were having building work done, which made me feel mortified, I would much rather have a neighbour who was nosey than angry. Personally I would let it go.

The Shard is relevant because I mentioned it in a previous post and wasn't arrogant enough to assume you had noticed it. It's called being helpful where I come from.

I too think it is weird for people to ignore people knocking at their front door. But I wouldn't get my knickers in a twist about a neighbour having a nosy as long as she didn't steal or vandalise. Presumably you will repel her advances from now on, so there's no harm done.

I wouldnt be happy either.
Cant beleive people would really be happy to have a complete stranger walking around your house looking at your possessions and maybe rifling in drawers, wardrobes etc when they thought you wouldnt find out.

What the hell has it to do with her what you are doing inside your house?

Slimthistime · 17/09/2017 23:09

Yanbu at all
None of her business what you're doing to your flat. How weird.

emmyrose2000 · 17/09/2017 23:23

Extremely rude and obnoxious.

If it was my house and the workmen HAD let her in, I'd have sacked him/terminated the job on the spot.

Well I think the Open House event sounds fab LimitedPeriodOnly and would love to go to it some time.

I'm not OK with it at all. I understand her curiosity, but she was out of line to ask, especially to ask someone other than the owner!!
