At 7.30AM on a weekend morning?

OP posts:
HarrietKettleWasHere · 17/09/2017 09:57

Why?

NataliaOsipova · 17/09/2017 09:57

In what context?

Fekko · 17/09/2017 09:58

Is it an emergency? She/he doesn't need to answer it!

stopbeingadramallama · 17/09/2017 09:58

What for?

Sienna333 · 17/09/2017 10:00

I needed to double check plans just in case she couldn't sit for me on Friday

OP posts:
NataliaOsipova · 17/09/2017 10:01

In that case, I'd probably wait until 9 am.

Fekko · 17/09/2017 10:01

Well, I guess it's ok. You aren't expecting a response immediately I suppose?

GlitteryFluff · 17/09/2017 10:02

If It's not urgent ie to do with sitting this morning then I wouldn't. Friday is ages away, you can text any time during the day for the next few days.

stopbeingadramallama · 17/09/2017 10:03

Why can't you wait and text tomorrow?

Snap8TheCat · 17/09/2017 10:04

I would be surprised to receive a non urgent work text that early on a Sunday morning and would reply at a more decent hour.

Fekko · 17/09/2017 10:05

I wouldn't!

WheresTheEvidence · 17/09/2017 10:05

Yabu I am a nanny and babysit and wouldn't take kindly to it.

If I'm not free I would have contacted you and if it's just confirming details anything before 1pm on a Sunday afternoon is ridiculous

aaaaargghhhhelpme · 17/09/2017 10:07

Oooooh. Way too early unless it's an emergency. Sorry op

f83mx · 17/09/2017 10:28

Yeah - why would you text anyone that early unless you know they're always up and about ?

Tazerface · 17/09/2017 10:32

Surely the whole point of text messaging is that you send it when convenient to you, and the recipient responds when it's convenient to them?

But - this is nearly a week in advance, you could send it any other time. On this occasion I would send it later but if same day response needed i would do it earlier.

Snap8TheCat · 17/09/2017 10:33

Something tells me the OP won't be back...

Subtlecheese · 17/09/2017 10:35

Childminder in the week 7.30am would probably be ok (as already 'at work'). Babysitter at the weekend? That's definitely be guided by the sort of time you'd expect (non supermarket) shops to be open.

TheNaze73 · 17/09/2017 10:40

YABU. I'd not bother anyone before midday on a Sunday

cittigirl · 17/09/2017 10:44

Is this a reverse?

Ebb · 17/09/2017 10:48

People can text me whenever they like as I put my phone on silent while I'm sleeping. However I'm assuming this is a reverse as why would anyone text at 7.30am on a Sunday to check about something the following Friday? Confused I guess though that parents with early wakers forget the rest of the world still have lie ins! Grin

0hCrepe · 17/09/2017 10:54

If this happened to you try not to get too offended by it. The parent had probably been up for a while and just wanted to check details for the week and didn't think. Plus, people usually put their phones on silent till they're awake so it doesn't matter too much anyway.

DoomGloomAndKaboom · 17/09/2017 10:55

I will openly point and laugh at whoever thinks it's reasonable to be texted on a weekend early morning about work 5 or 6 days later.

Not everyone switches their phone to silent overnight.

Why couldnt the text wait till lunchtime.

If I were the babysitting I would text back 'you woke me up' and not answer a thing about the babysit. And then I'd call you at 6pm on Friday and cancel, citing a need to catch up on my sleep.

Liadain · 17/09/2017 10:57

FGS op, yes yabu. Way too early. Leave it til lunchtime.

indigox · 17/09/2017 10:58

Of course YABU.

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup · 17/09/2017 10:58

If your babysitter has her own kids she'll probably be up anyway. I wouldn't mind, if I was still asleep I'd text you when I woke up Smile
