AIBU to say that someone who only works 25 hours a week (No kids) should not say they feel stressed as they have only had 5 days off work this year?

OP posts:

I hate people who think that, by virtue of procreating, they have the monopoly on stress....and I say this as someone who has children. YABU and not very nice. You have no idea what goes on in her personal life.

I also fail to see how her having children or not is directly linked to stress :/

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 17/09/2017 13:05

You really don't sound very nice.

Expemsiveuniform · 17/09/2017 13:07

I really don't understand this at all. How does not having kids mean you can't be stressed and shouldn't take holidays or should I'm not sure what the op means

Poisongirl81 · 17/09/2017 13:13

Looking at your other threads. You seem very jealous of everyone

TurquoiseDress · 17/09/2017 13:20

OP

Just because somebody does not have kids doesn't automatically make them less stressed or immune to getting stressed.

So I take it from your posts that you are a parent therefore your stress is more "valid" than a colleague without kids?

I'm thankful you're not a colleague of mine with that narrow minded view & approach to others

ConciseandNice · 17/09/2017 13:26

People with kids don't have a monopoly on stress ( and I say that as someone with 5). You are being very unreasonable indeed. And unpleasant. 5 days this year is awful and unless her job is listening to classical music while reclining on a chaise long eating meringues, then she has every right to be tired, stressed and complain. Get over yourself.

CheeseGirl4 · 18/09/2017 07:20

There are many causes of stress, not just a busy working schedule. You said she wants to work more hours? I'm sure that the reduced salary from part time working is stressful.

I was out of work for several months recently following redundancy, after the first month I felt like a constant ball of anxiety and stress - I felt unndervalued, stressed I was never going to get another good job, stressed about financial commitments, stressed about my future, stressed I wasn't doing enough, or had messed up an interview, stressed I couldn't enjoy relaxing because I needed a job.

CheeseGirl4 · 18/09/2017 07:21

I don't have kids by the way.
