I am meant to be flying out tomorrow for my best friends hen party and my husband for the stag.
Kids are nearing end of primary school age and are staying with my parents from tomorrow morning to Monday evening so that's all fine.
But now I'm terrified something will happen and both me and hubby will be leaving the kids without parents if an attack did happen!
Red light district is a hotspot for an attack if it did happen in Amsterdam looking at the online info so am really panicking!
Would you all go and not worry?

I'm going to Amsterdam tomorrow too, can't say it's crossed my mind to be honest

Thisismadness · 15/09/2017 19:52

I think you know you're just panicking a bit. Try and relax, go and have a ball, you'll be fine. Amsterdam is great you'll love it.

Therealslimshady1 · 15/09/2017 19:56

The red light district in Amsterdam is horrid, tourists gawking at prostitutes in windows Sad, cannot understand what the entertainment value of that is.

Other than that, just go. It will be fine, you'd have to be very unlucky to be targeted.

Honey boo - That's fantastic and I wish I could be a little more like you!

There's more risk of something happening to you and your husband on a day to day basis than this weekend. Go and have a great time Amsterdam is a brilliant place

True I know!

Yeah, why are you going to the read light district? I felt so depressed seeing those poor women standing in windows with hoard of men, husbands, learning and taking photos.

Sickening and so upsetting.it shows a side to men that I think we shoes to prefer doesn't exist.

OldPony · 16/09/2017 08:51

Leering not learning.

Amsterdam is beautiful.
The Red Light District is grim.
Enjoy your weekend - you could play "which one of these women is trafficked" with your friends, if you're looking for a fun hen night game?

why are you going to the read light district?

Maybe they like books? Grin

TSSDNCOP · 16/09/2017 09:38

I've been to Amsterdam 5 times and never even seen the red light distract.

Ellisandra · 16/09/2017 09:49

I lived there for 6 months for work and turned down repeated requests to join work colleagues and friends passing through.

My Dutch colleagues were highly embarrassed by it.

TrustingTrudie · 16/09/2017 10:47

Unfortunately they all want to go there as its a hen and stag party
Not my idea of fun either
