£50 advent calendar for tweens

I know I'm not the target market, but my neice would apparently like a £50 advent calendar. I wouldn't mind the high price point but it looks like awful value, some confetti and cookie cutters are the type of gifts and there are only 12 holes.

It just seems such blatant rip off by a money hungry YouTuber who has alot of young fans. I can barely see £20 of value in it!

Important info
The Lifestyle Advent Calendar (contains bauble, confetti, purse, candle 130g, cookie cutter x 2, jotter pad, key ring, pen, room spray 30ml, stickers and votive)

For £50 and the crap that comes with it she could have at least done 25 days! (although I still feel it would be a rip off) You could literally buy one of the cookie cutters on amazon for 77p!!!!

Instead of buying these for your kids I would suggest getting an empty wooden (or whatever material) advent calendar, buy one zoella product for the last day and fill the rest with things from poundland etc. At least this way you can get things your kids wont waste!

She's a millionaire already. So by my logic, she doesn't need to market the stuff at that price.

But y'know, big names sell and always have.

caggie09 · 13/11/2017 14:52

I think the Helloworld event she was at to was abit of a disaster too🌚 She was hardly seen or something?
I watch a few of there videos, dont know why. But i do love how they sometimes say ''its not about money'' Yet bring absolute tat out for kids to buy. Her boyfriend bought some gym equipment and the company never ever sent it. Think it was over £3000 worth of stuff. And he said something like ''go buy some merch, so i can get more gym equipment''then said he was only joking. Yeah, course you were😂

Zoella has been pulling this kind of shit for years, always seems to get away with it.

She holds records for "her book" and how fast it sold.

blackteasplease · 13/11/2017 19:00

Apparently it's rubbish (so I read)

Shootfirstaskquestionslater · 13/11/2017 19:07

What an over priced rip off for a bunch of over priced tat. You can decent jewellery advent calanders for half the price. Your paying for shite because some over hyped YouTuber has slapped her name on it. Come January that will be sitting in the bargain bin where it belongs.

Shameless twats both of them!

ReanimatedSGB · 14/11/2017 12:16

OK, what you do (if you have kids who like these vacuous wankers and you love your kids and want them to be happy) - Get a mixture of pound shop tat and the odd nice item like a pretty notebook or a keyring, make up an advent calendar with gifts in - or a Christmas box of some kind and..... here's the FTW bit:

Download, and print, pictures of scammer the kids like, and glue them over the gift you have made. Maybe even fake the signature (probably enough copies of it online somewhere.)
Your kid is happy, and you haven't put a penny in the scammer's pockets...

CoolCarrie · 14/11/2017 14:16

I see the cheeky fuckers are selling acrylic Xmas jumpers as well!

MagicFajita · 14/11/2017 14:25

Oh dear! My dd loves Zoella "merch" but I won't be buying her this.

Boots do have a Jack Wills one for £35 though , It has 24 doors. I might stretch to that one for her.

Itsgonnabeacoldone · 14/11/2017 20:03

She's getting so much deserved backlash over this.

If your dc are into her, it's a good opportunity to teach them about explotation and the value of money.

Itsgonnabeacoldone · 20/11/2017 13:05

Boots have now deleted almost all of the negative reviews and just left 8 one star reviews but not deleted many of the five star reviews. So now it's rating is 3/5 and has more posative than negative reviews.

Shocking they can delete hundreds of negative reviews to manipulate it.
