Will I be ok getting an epidural?

Shamelessly posting for traffic.

I've been in hospital for around 9 days and I am exhausted. Been through the entire induction process and have been refused a c section.

Doctor said I can go down to have my waters broken and have an epidural beforehand so I don't feel any pain and can rest while the drip speeds up contractions.

Can anyone tell me if they've had the hormone drip and or epidural and if I'll be okay?

I nearly just cried at this on the Tube!!

I'm so sorry you had to go through such a painful and distressing ordeal. I've been following the thread but had nothing really constructive to add, as I've not yet had mine (pregnant with baby 1 as we speak), all I could have done really was express sympathy but I think what you were after was actual experiences and advice, which I couldn't help with at all obviously.

But now I see little Noa is here, and she's gorgeous!!! 😍Congratulations. Hope you are getting loads of snuggles in and recovering from the trauma of it all...

Xxx

Congratulations!! Enjoy the wonderful cuddles and moments to come. Flowers

She is absolutely beautiful, congratulations! I agree - keep taking the painkillers and write down the times, large knickers, peppermint tea for the trapped wind, try not to laugh or cough without a pillow over your tummy for awhile, and train your other half to pull you up from sitting for a week or so!

To echo the others, please complain about your treatment - but there's no rush. Wait until you're at home, settled, have processed it all and are ready.

Oh, OP, what a very beautiful soul Noa is (love her name, too).

Many, many congratulations. Flowers

Sorry you've undergone such an ordeal...hope it's compensated by you both having the easiest time possible from now on.
I'm sure your precious girl is destined for great things, if she's inherited even an ounce of your grit.

Enjoy those cuddles! x

Congrats on your beautiful baby girl she is adorable Smile
I hope you are now home resting up as much as you can with newborn and enjoying your time with your DD

Ahh. Congratulations OP.

Your birth sounds like mine (although it was two failed epidurals for me). Be prepared for your back to feel bruised for quite a while. Mine looked like a dart board for ages.
Even to the fact that my DD got stuck is how similar our births were.

I can't help with what you should do. I never put a complaint in (even though I really should have) as by the time I felt ready to discuss it rationally I think the time had gone past (as it was well over a year)
For now though, try and rest and concentrate on your beautiful baby
