Hi
Can I please have some suggestions...I need to buy around 30 gifts...they are thank you gifts for people I have worked with. My budget is around £7 per person...I know you can't do much with £7 but I just really want to show my appreciation as everyone has been so kind and helped me in what ever way they can.
Any suggestions would be appreciated :-)

Wine is a great gift if you know them well enough to be sure they drink wine. I have been given loads of bottles of wine as "thank-you"s over the years and always hand them straight over to DH! You could always give a small bottle of wine (around £1.50 / £2 each) with some chocolates.

Classy or funny?
Funny
Get them each a mug with"I loved working with you! Love from Susan "

Brittbugs80 · 13/09/2017 07:51

I got my team (last year) a Christmas present each with a thanks for all your hard work. But then there was only 4 of them. They each got a Christmas mug, Lush bath bomb, Christmas Percy pigs and a Christmas scratch card

Butterymuffin · 13/09/2017 07:53

Nice consumables. So wine, chocolates, nice boxes of biscuits.

MrsOverTheRoad · 13/09/2017 07:55

OP come back and tell us in what context you worked with these people.

Are they all in one building? If so I agree with people's suggestion of loads of Krispy Kremes or similar.

If not...well then that's different!

kateandme · 13/09/2017 07:58

AllPizzasGreatAndSmall · 13/09/2017 07:59

Why are people assuming the OP is leaving her job? It may be that they have worked on a particular 'project' and the OP is grateful for their support.

Karak · 13/09/2017 08:00

If buying one present for everyone you need to be careful on value. Depending on who these people are they might be subject to limitations on value of gifts received from clients/customers/service users.

NeonFlower · 13/09/2017 08:02

Depends on the circumstances, but just think to yourself if it would be 'the norm' there, or a bit OTT (people are funny about gift giving, and feel it infers a pressure on them to do the same).

WomblingThree · 13/09/2017 08:03

@MrsOverTheRoad I never assume anyone works in an office, having never worked in one myself, however a large percentage of workplaces have a break room where consumables can be shared.

This is a classic illustration of why it is a bad idea to be so vague in the OP. Everyone makes up their own scenario and goes with it. If people posted the actual pertinent information in the OP, this wouldn't happen.

SunshineLollipopsRainbows25 · 13/09/2017 08:09

buy everyone a cactus a bag of chocolate and a thankyou/goodbye card!

Ragwort · 13/09/2017 08:17

I agree with others that buying 30 individual gifts would look very odd; there are many other ways of showing appreciation rather than buying gifts and I really don't think it is appropriate to give so many presents in the workplace. It makes you look a big needy and clingy.

I know this sounds mean but I volunteer in a charity shop and we are donated 100s of 'small thank you type gifts' especially from teachers and no one wants to buy them anyway so many end up in landfill. Sad.

chanie44 · 13/09/2017 08:24

I would feel really uncomfortable knowing that someone has spent that much money on gifts for 30 people.

I'd recommend buying a huge tub of chocolates or cakes. People tend to be happy with that. Or write a letter to the big boss telling them what a great bunch of people they are, so that management can acknowledge them.

Needalifeoverhaul · 13/09/2017 08:26

Can you bake? Maybe a little cupcake/ muffin each with different hand decorations on each. You can get really pretty individual cupcake boxes in packs on line quite cheap and then write a mini card to fo inside as well with a personal message applicable to each person.

SleepingStandingUp · 13/09/2017 08:32

OP agree that it sounds alot to spend of you've been working as general colleagues and a joint treat is probably more appropriate.
.if its a project where everyone is dispersed, have you worked with everyone and genuinely want to thank every single person? Alcohol, chocolates etc are a good go to but if in reality you varwly know some of these people it may come across a little overdone. If they've worked for you with you leading them so you do a tally know all of them then see above but I'd def think is this the usual on this position and will it come across right?

Jedimum1 · 13/09/2017 08:33

As pp said, if you give everyone the same little thing it will indeed look as if you are trying too hard and it won't have the effect you want. I'd make them a card each, writing something meaningful or a shared personal anecdotes for each one. I'd get either boxes of donuts for everyone or a big present for the work place, such as the coffee machine, a mini fridge, etc. Otherwise, it won't be remembered and it won't have the impact you want.

Squarerouteofsquirrel · 13/09/2017 08:35

The 30 people have obviously got something in common be it that they work together, or they just happen to all know the op in some other setting. I second the group gift - cakes, chocolate. Perhaps a little get together in pub - but everyone a drink, or community hall - little Buffet. £200 is very generous for presumably acquaintances, not close friend and family.

BitOutOfPractice · 13/09/2017 08:38

I agree with the PP who said about buying a joint present. How about a coffee machine or a bench / table and chairs so they can sit outside on sunny lunchtines

ICJump · 13/09/2017 08:43

What about little Lego? These Lego people are £3 each.

It's a bit fun.

5rivers7hills · 13/09/2017 08:46

Wine / chocolates / biscuits

blankface · 13/09/2017 08:48

Box of donuts, scratchcard or Lottery/Euromillions lucky dip each.

Fekko · 13/09/2017 08:51

Try hotel chocolate. I got a discount when I bought a dozen boxes of chocolates and they went down very well.

SkintAsASkintThing · 13/09/2017 08:54

Just buy a huge, framed photo of yourself and stick it up in the kitchen or something. Make yourself a little shrine. 😂😂😂

Ttbb · 13/09/2017 08:58

Small boxes of chocolates
Cup cakes
Flowers
A Tin of nice tea
A nice mug/cup
Walk around your local Waitrose/M&S and see what you find.
