It's on Netflix and she'd like to. Of course she could easily watch it if she wanted (I'm not that stupid... I was 15 once!) but it's wether I actively allow it. We normally watch stuff from there together, hence she asked.

Would you??

I remember watching pet semetary when I was around 10 and being really freaked out by Gabe

Gage you mean?

Hostels on on horror soon if anyone wants to scratch an itch Wink

Personally I think it's tame but it'll do.

AgentZigzag · 09/09/2017 22:23

I've just looked at the info on Sky for Hostel gamer, and noticed it says they're in Serbia, is it the same film I've seen called 'the Serbian film' on here? Something to do with killing babies (from what I remember of a very quick google on 'the Serbian film')

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 09/09/2017 22:24

agent

No its not the same film

gamerchick · 09/09/2017 22:25

No it's just the bog standard hostel.

gamerchick · 09/09/2017 22:28

Maybe sky got their films mixed up.

Or virgin did, be interesting to find out Grin

AgentZigzag · 09/09/2017 22:31

ah, thanks, I did wonder at how killing babies could be seen as tame. I got the impression the serbian film is a bit of a benchmark of how disturbing films could get but don't really want to know much about it.

AgentZigzag · 09/09/2017 22:35

Hehe I've looked again and it says Slovakia on Sky too lol weird how my alcohol addled brain read it as Serbia.

I haven't even had that much! Grin

gamerchick · 09/09/2017 22:54
Grin

It's definitely hostel. I haven't seen the other one. I'm pretty thirsty, more than the average person for gore but that film has content that doesn't appeal.

gamerchick · 09/09/2017 22:56

Like I said earlier, the human centipede 2 scarred my soul... just no.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 09/09/2017 22:56

Ive watched the hostel films

There is no way on earth i would watch that serbian film

Uh uh no way

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/09/2017 22:57

I can't remember it being that bad tbh.

RP23 · 09/09/2017 22:59

I was about 15 when I watched it and it hasn't scarred me for life and I wasn't too scared, but it is pretty gory so I guess it depends on how she copes with things that are a bit gruesome? But if you think she'll be alright and you're happy to then go for it!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/09/2017 23:00

I remember watching a pirate copy of Night of The Living Dead at 14,now THAT was scary !

Liverbird77 · 10/09/2017 08:19

I saw the trailer for the new one yesterday at the cinema. The violence and gore appeared to be very graphic. I wouldn't watch it, and I certainly wouldn't let a child watch it.

SaucyJack · 10/09/2017 10:10

There is another film actually called A Serbian Film.

Frequenting appears on lists of the worst film ever made. Probably the one you're confusing Hostel with.

verbaIkint · 10/09/2017 13:13

Absolutely not but only because the acting is more terrifying than the gore. I couldn't take it seriously.

Wait until she's asking to watch Human Centipede or A Serbian Film.

AgentZigzag · 10/09/2017 16:14

DD shit herself up going to watch 'It' at the cinema last night Grin said it was a really good horror if anyone's thinking of going.

grannytomine · 10/09/2017 16:19

My DD told me the plot, I wouldn't watch it. It sounds horrible and I can't imagine letting a 15 year old watch it.

BuckinhamL · 10/09/2017 16:46

I wouldn't let my 15 year old watch Saw or Hostel - because they're crap. Let them try Hellraiser, Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Candyman and Pumpkinhead first, so they have a bar to set other horror films against.

Remy66 · 10/09/2017 17:10

If she's already seen the human centipede let her... it's not even close to as bad. That said.
Thc1 was ok but uncomfortable.
Thc2 was far worse and it did give me a bit of a complex
Not bad enough to stop me watching thc3 which was both ridiculous and unsettling enough for me to turn off.

kali110 · 11/09/2017 17:54

rem yes i was very disappointed by thc3. What a load of crap Angry

StickThatInYourPipe · 11/09/2017 18:17

^^ This! Saw is a good thriller but not really a horror movie. Hostel I hated tbh, I only enjoy gore when I feel it is justified to the story but I felt Hostel was very lacking in the story department. Saw is clever but got stupid in the sequels and the new one looks like it won't bring any thing else to the party really.

The classics really are the best! I don't think 15 is really too young, we were watching worse at that age and younger.

StickThatInYourPipe · 11/09/2017 18:19

Just to add the film of the Human Centipede really is shite but the story of it really frightened me when it was released! I was early 20s and could not stop thinking about it, until I saw it and realised it was just a load of rubbish hehe Blush

grannytomine · 11/09/2017 18:44

Now I know I'm old, when I worked on vice squad we were snatching copies of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and video shops were being prosecuted for stocking it. It was banned for some years if I remember correctly.

Polliver · 11/09/2017 19:15

No. NO. So much no.
