Bloke and I at work having A Dispute over a fiver.
He believes that the fiver is mine, I believe that it is his.
Cue the Fiver War of 2017.

So far he has hidden the fiver between the keys of my keyboard, in my office trainers (kept under my desk) and tucked in the grid cover of my desk fan.

I have stuck it under his mouse (covering the sensor) and taped it HEAVILY with washi tape (brightly coloured masking tape) to his desk.

Fiver is currently on my desk.

I need HELP, please lovely Mumsnetters - I am very competitive in need of a win this week

Also, if you do fancy him, end game needs to be putting it towards the first round (of many) at the the pub on Friday night, just you two!

flumpybear · 07/09/2017 09:34

Get a room with it Shock ...

happypoobum · 07/09/2017 09:40

This is going to be such a lovely story to tell your grandchildren...Grin

Ihavepatrick · 07/09/2017 09:47

Swap the note for pennies and glue them onto his desk, mosaic style

SummerRoberts · 07/09/2017 09:47

Send it to him in the internal post.
Also... tell him you love him!

stealtheatingtunnocks · 07/09/2017 09:52

get tickets to something you want to see/do. Tape the fiver to the tickets. Hope he takes the hint and you.

EatsFartsAndLeaves · 07/09/2017 09:59

Tape it to the underside of his keyboard?

skyzumarubble · 07/09/2017 10:00

Take him out for a drink and out it towards that - sounds like you want to be in a tree, K I S S I N G

CopperHandle · 07/09/2017 10:03

He went to a meeting, I stapled it to his chair.
It's only a matter of time before it works it's way back to me, I haven't left my desk since.

haha love it!

but have to say we do stuff like this at work and there is no romantic agenda!

gunsandbanjos · 07/09/2017 10:15

Excellent thread, so much better than a lot of the moaning that goes on on here.

The glitter balloon and the jelly are my favourite so far!

DiscoMoo · 07/09/2017 10:16

We used to do this with a picture of a guy in a business suit with a clown face that was cut out of a magazine.

Favourite hiding places were:
Inside a box of cereal (which one of the girls used to eat at her desk)
Inside a notebook so when they turned a page in their meeting he was there
Inside an umbrella (to flutter out when umbrella opened).
Inside box of tissues (to flutter out when a tissue is pulled out).

LeaningJowler · 07/09/2017 10:18

Change his computer background/screen saver to a fiver, but don't hide it on his desk for a few days. He'll think it there and keep looking for it!

CopperHandle · 07/09/2017 10:22

When he has his car back I'm going to get a fake Penalty Charge Notice (you know, the scary yellow envelopes that stick to the front windscreen) and put the fiver in one of those on his car.

Unfortunately he's away tomorrow.

Whilst there's definitely a little flirting, I wouldn't describe it as a romance, sorry to disappoint!

Clearly our jobs are pretty boring!

tinypop4 · 07/09/2017 10:25

Ask him if you could spend the fiver on taking him for a drink on the basis that you obviously fancy each other!

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 07/09/2017 10:27

But we like a romance!

loaferloveforyou · 07/09/2017 10:31

Tape it underneath his desk. He will go mad wondering where it is and assume you have kept it and you will know it's in his possession. He will think he's won but you will know you have won.

mostmoisturised · 07/09/2017 10:35

Video yourself doing the following:

Write down the serial number of the note then set fire to it.
Grind the ashes vv fine.

Invite the co-worker for a meal.
Serve grilled red peppers, slightly charred, as a starter with the ashes stirred into the filling.

Voilà. He done ate the fiver and it's now undoubtedly his.
Mwah-hah-hah.....

brassbrass · 07/09/2017 11:05

discomoo our's was a video cassette, the old prehistoric ones (maybe you're too young to remember?)

big clunky thing very difficult to hide Grin

WaxOnFeckOff · 07/09/2017 11:29

Why don't you spend it on a cake/cakes and sit there gorging yourself on them and don't give him any. Even better if you could get a photo cake done with a picture of the fiver on it. Keep the photo image and keep sending it to him by text or email...

Convert it to bitcoin?

frenchfancy17 · 07/09/2017 11:31

Tape it UNDER his chair.

MytToeHurtsBetty · 07/09/2017 11:56

Its illegal to photocopy notes... if you try it will come out looking stripey... Don't ask me how I know this! LOL

Loving the glitter ideas and the Jelly! Can you laminate it and put it in a milk carton or juice?

CopperHandle · 07/09/2017 12:47

WaxOnFeckOff unfortunately not, he's very good and never eats the (regular) office cakes that go around. He's working towards some gym goal at the moment.

May just eat tons of cake anyway.

I have returned from being out of the office for an hour. I know that the fecking thing is somewhere but I can't find it.

WaxOnFeckOff · 07/09/2017 12:49

Good Luck!

Could you roll it tight and fit it inside a straw?

CopperHandle · 07/09/2017 12:51

I feel I have won by Imagination Default.
Although this is a different set of shoes than the last time. too many shoes under my desk
