To help a mangy scrap of fox UPDATE

If anyone remembers/is interested!

(Also I know foxes aren't popular with everyone, please no fox naysers)

Briefly, in March or so I had a beautiful fox called Russel visit me where I live in Wandsworth. Then he turned up with a little scrappy mate. Thought she was a he at first, a really poor thing, all bald across her poor back. I also thought she was a funny shape- she looked very lumpy. I felt awful for her, and got some mange medication, which I gave her as drops on food every single night (foxes are fantastic time keepers if there's a test involved) and she started to improve.

One night she wasn't there, and was away for a few nights. I was so sad. Russel was still showing up though, and would carry his treat off.

Anyway after three nights, she was back- with four little babies in tow. I got to see them all grow up. Every week or so, one of them drops by to say hello. This is Vicky, who came over last night.

They seem fine with cooked bones. Chicken at least. I'll ask next time I'm on shift but I'm sure we wouldn't give them if there was an issue. In fact, it was only recently that one of the staff (who's worked at The Fox Project for 15+ years) asked me to pop out to Sainsbury's and buy some chicken pieces as we were out of them. I came back and cooked enough up for two meals for all the ICU residents. I was very popular! Wink

I can't help but include a couple of photos of some of my favourite recent "residents". I can't help but fall in love with everyone single one of them. Smile

Ohhh theyre so beautiful Hundred! Well done for all the fab work you to there. The foxes need you Smile

I donated puppy pads via amazon to the FP a while ago...I'll keep a lookout for any more donation calls. I always say to DP if we ever win the lottery, the Fox Project is going to get a fair old whack Grin

Yes, sorry to slightly hijack your thread Harriet. I was looking through my photos to see if I had any with foxes eating cooked chicken and I couldn't resist posting a bit of "fox porn".

We are always very grateful for any donations. I know sometimes the Amazon deliveries don't show who sent it so if you didn't get a personal thank you, many apologies. It is VERY much appreciated.

And if you don't live too far away, it's always worth doing the "Meet The Cubs" session when it happens. You get to cuddle fox cubs and it's the best day ever!! I did it last year, then did "A Day Out With The Ambulance" and after that I loved it so much that they asked me if I wanted to volunteer on a regular basis. And I was delighted to say yes! Spending time with the foxes is the highlight of my week (way better than my Mon-Fri job!!)

Aww @Harriet how sweet! I've never been able to get that near any! So lucky!

Have you got any more photos? They're adorable! Lovely little babies!!

HundredMilesAnHour · 05/09/2017 21:59

Just sneaking a couple more pics in and then I promise I'll stop. Wink

It takes me forever to clean their cages as I spend half my time watching them and saying "you're so handsome, OMG now you're so handsome, no you're so handsome...."

Aw I Hundred I love seeing the pictures! And I'd be the same. I would love to visit there at some point.

This might sound mad but I think they all have really individual faces! So much character.

Really loving all the pictures. Smile

HundredMilesAnHour · 05/09/2017 22:06

Yes they're amazing, aren't they? They all have their own personalities and such different but expressive faces.

Definitely thinking about visiting if you can. It's the most fantastic experience.
