To replace Bosch washer / dryer with Miele washer / dryer

We live in a tiny house and laundry over winter is always a nightmare. TBH it's been a bit of a nightmare this summer. We want to move but bigger houses we could afford are like hen's teeth. I dream of a utility....

I have a Bosch washer / dryer which is 4 years old and is fine and in good working order. It's a bit crap at drying. We don't have room for a seperate tumble dryer.

I have a drysoon heated airer. I will be buying the cover to make it more efficient.

Dh has suggested using a laundry service and better washer / dryer as sticking plaster for laundry woes until we can move.

Any opinions on the Miele or other washing hacks?

Do your washing loads first and then start on the drying, a but at a time. The dryers has to dry out all the pipes from the washing.
You can buy a small tumble dryer - I used to keep it in a cupboard under the stars and was light enough to wheel out once a week to do some drying. Had a hose that I would poke out of the patio doors.

TBH bedding and towels Id send to the launderette and get them back washed dried and beautifully ironed (*sigh, thinking back wistfully to when I was child free and single and sent all my laundry out 😬)

Spin dryer - spins at 2800rpm. Could use before a tumble to speed drying/save £

I use one with laundry bag for delicates that can't go in dryer.

Also, if you air dry in house a spin dryer will help prevent mould.

Depends where you live I guess, but a half-decent breeze and some sunshine will at least get things half dry so bringing them in to finish off doesn't create as much humidity.

Washer driers are shit.

My grandmother hung out towels in the winter once and they froze. They broke as she tried to take them off the line 😂

Agree with other posters. Washer driers are not worth it. Try any other option first!

I had a washer/dryer in my old tiny kitchen. It was utterly pants!

I have a large drysoon airer and bedding can get done on that, and dries surprisingly quickly. I put king size bedding on it quarter folded across both 'wings' and flip it round it dries pretty well.

Especially if you can get it outside for an hour or so before on a breezy day.

In winter I never get things dry outside but on a breezy day the wind can certainly get some of the wetness out, and there's something to be said for the smell of fresh air through the washing.

That said, without a tumble drier, I have towels like sandpaper, despite all my efforts to the contrary

I have a dehumidifier in addition to my washer dryer. (Meaco DD8L) and it is great.

I run it on drying washing mode for 4 hours after finishing a wash. Stuff dries. I still use my W/D (6-7 yo Indesit) for towels/ sheets etc but as it fries clothes I don't use it for them anymore.
