@GriswaldFamilyVacation I'm glad to see somebody else has noticed Neutrogena being a complete PITA talking seven shades of shite all over this site Wink and yes there's more and more studies being done about the effects of under age drinking so it's definitely not to be recommended.

I agree OP. Not great to be undermined by somebody you thought you could trust BUT every cloud and all that - a good lesson for your teens about standing up to pressures.

VocalDuck · 03/09/2017 21:20

Definitely not BU. It might be legal in the home and it might be what some parents are happy to do, but it is something someone always needs to check with the parents first and make sure they agree with.

Neutrogena - the point is your post makes no sense.

Sayyouwill · 03/09/2017 21:54

I adore tequila however no fucking way would I give it to a 14yo. I think I was 17 when I first tried it and it was rough stuff.

OP I'm totally on your side with this one

Don't worry, rednailsandnaeknickers, you're definitely not alone in noticing this. It makes me yawn every time.

OP, Regarding someone giving a 14 year old tequila, YANBU to be angry about it (although I still can't quite work out from your posts exactly what the circumstances were in which this situation was able to come about, so I'm somewhat confused about what happened and how). Absolutely fine for a teenager's parents to give them the odd glass of wine or a beer at home, but not OK for any other adult to do this without permission, and tequila slammers aren't exactly teaching responsible drinking.

Is your friend usually a complete arsehole, or was this a one-off?

Was at a friends get together at my house & yes alcohol served - was good fun - whole range of ages of kids & whilst DH & I were elsewhere (I was making cups of tea - that's how outrageous a party it was!) the 'incident' happened - totally unexpected and tbh unforgivable.

Big chat today about how to say no to a trusted adult. Great

Actually, I think it's a good opportunity to have that conversation & it's an important conversation to have

You're right & we've done that.
