AIBU - girls bras

Alibobbob · 01/09/2017 23:10

I am trying to find some bras for my 11 year old. AIBU to think these should be plain, boring, non-mounded and non-padded. I can't find any for school without the padding or moulding. She has sensory issues so won't wear them if they are uncomfortable and she is really shy so doesn't want to draw any attention to herself. She will be a new year 7 in a few days 😳

Thanks Noeffingidea (love the name btw)

She's a 14 so I think she should be ok with the sizes.

See, I went straight into an underwired padded bra aged 11 (on my birthday) and didn't have much of a choice. 12 years on and although I still often wear them, I also really like sports bras and the Primark non padded racerback bra/bralette. My mum never said anything to me about bras. It was my step mum who sorted them out for me. Kudos to you for wanting her to be comfortable and helping her.

Thank you Deaddoorpost that's really kind of you.

She's still awake - she has trouble sleeping. I just asked her how the bralet? things were and she said they were comfortable but got a bit itchy at the end of the day but could probably tolerate it for school.

I will definitely go and buy her some lace free bra lets.

Thank you on befall of me and my daughter I really appreciate the advice given.

They also become less itchy once they've been washed. And remember never to sleep in them!

Ah ok. Thanks.

I got my DDs from Sainsbury's. Plain white or ones with stripes on. No padding or moulding.
