AIBU to LTB over cheese?

MollysMummy2010 · 30/08/2017 22:17

I bought ingredients to make macaroni cheese for dinner for DD and myself tonight. DH does not like macaroni cheese but said he would sort himself out.

Made white sauce and cooked pasta. Went to add in the cheese to the sauce.

DH has eaten all the cheese.

LTB?

LTB - Has he jumped up full of apologies and replaced the cheese or shrugged it off?

SilverySurfer · 31/08/2017 14:05

I've read about some terrible DH behaviour on here but this is
beyond terrible. What a heinous crime. I'm going to impart the knowledge of MN at times like this:

Get all your ducks in a row - ie gather all financial documents and passports and leave them with a friend for safety.

Take photos of any incriminating evidence (ie empty cheese wrapper in the bin)

Fake it till you make it, you will get angry and don't do the 'pick-me' dance.

Eat and drink, although you will be devastated, it's important to keep up your strength. (Although not mac cheese which is gross)

Put all his possessions in bin bags on your front lawn.

Find a shit hot lawyer to get a free 30 minute consultation.

If all of the above fails - make him to go shopping for replacement cheese Grin

LeakyLittleBoat · 31/08/2017 14:26

His mum is Italian
Yeah. No. That's not very likely now is it, OP? Clearly there was some mix up on the maternity ward.

LineysRun · 31/08/2017 14:31

I don't understand how he doesn't like macaroni cheese but made himself, basically, macaroni cheese.

scampimom · 31/08/2017 15:20

Cheesus Christ, I can't brie-lieve he'd do that. How dairy!

Deathraystare · 31/08/2017 15:29

Tell him we are all very disappointed in him and don't believe that he misheard at all. He should go get a huge slab of cheese for you this minute and not touch it!

Apocalyptichorsewoman · 31/08/2017 15:30

Gouda thought it?

MrsKoala · 31/08/2017 15:33

I've made it a policy to only marry men who dislike cheese (and gherkins, pickles and olives). Then it's all for me. You only have yourself to blame here OP. Next time choose more wisely.

DoomGloomAndKaboom · 31/08/2017 15:42

lol Apocalyptichorsewoman
I can't brielieve you did that.

OP don't waste your time LTB, just murder him. No jury would convict you.

2017SoFarSoGood · 31/08/2017 15:58

OP your fault, you married the bastard. Edam well better make it up to you. 😝

Dowser · 31/08/2017 16:18

Macaroni cheese is like the devil's spawn.
I think he did right to eat the cheese so you can never serve such disgusting filth to your offspring again .

😂

scampimom · 31/08/2017 16:41

Blasphemy! Disgusting filth indeed. Macaroni cheese is the food of ANGELS. Specially them crispy bits of cheese on the top.

I need macaroni cheese so bad right now. Jonesing.

TroysMammy · 31/08/2017 16:43

The fact you think macaroni cheese is a meal I would say he should be the one who should be asking "should I ltb?". Grin

RiversrunWoodville · 31/08/2017 16:49

LTB? No it's much more serious killing him is entirely justifiable, cheese stealing monster

LouHotel · 31/08/2017 16:56

Bit of onion in macroni cheese is nice but YABU to have used ham instead of bacon.

I think as it was shitty grated cheese he can be given but needs to go out a buy you some of the decent stuff and grate it.

dementedma · 31/08/2017 20:28

It is macaroni cheese, NOT mac "n" cheese and it should ALWAYS have onion for added crunch!
These are FACTS!!!! so there!

Graphista · 31/08/2017 20:47

"Leaky - I have managed to marry a man who doesn't like pasta or soft cheese. His mum is Italian."

I have 2 friends married to Italians their mothers would probably disown them if they didn't like pasta or soft but very strong cheese!

"the fuckity fuck are ONION and HAM doing in MC?" I have a local cafe that has a menu SECTION just for Mac cheese. Only 2 veggie options sadly - normal or 4 cheese. You can get with bacon, ham, chorizo etc with or without extra cheese on top!

"Is there not a dedicated cheese shelf in your fridge?? I thought everyone had one of these" yep we do here, currently contains plastic slices, 2 types cheddar, smoked Austrian and 2 types cream cheese - and my stocks are low just now!

Graphista · 31/08/2017 20:48

I am so getting diced onion in next shop to add to my Mac cheese.

Just to encourage jealousy we also get Mac cheese in... Pies! Topped with mashed potato!

Andrewofgg · 31/08/2017 21:28

What cheese? If it was Brie don't LTB - boil him slowly in oil and post the video to YouTube.

If it was Cheddar, you deserve each other.

If it was Red Leicester - you apologise to him for bringing it into the house.

Apocalyptichorsewoman · 31/08/2017 22:53

Doom But it's really important that ANY cheese negotiation is done caerphillly... Wink

CaptWentworth · 31/08/2017 23:03

LTB. Then take him back, then LTB again.

MorrisZapp · 31/08/2017 23:08

Smoked garlic cheddar from Arran.

The end.

Seqkat · 31/08/2017 23:16

Onion is weird! Not onion! It should be leeks in macaroni cheese. Yes to breadcrumbs, and some of my family like it with peas added too...

Leave him. Although if he ate a whole bag of grated cheese, he may die of disgustingness soon anyway and save you the bother.

MollysMummy2010 · 31/08/2017 23:22

Hmm...leeks....bacon.....
He left enough in bag for a sprinkle and I will in future bow to MN wisdom and grate my own bloody cheese. I just find it boring and cannot be arsed to get food processor out.
You have all made me laugh - he also has just eaten the remainder of the ham tonight as he didn't want left over macaroni (no)cheese!!
Now asleep so I might go and grate his nose!!

LTB RIGHT THIS SECOND.

TBH I don't know why you were with him in the first place if he doesn't like Macaroni Cheese.

I recently had a first date which went marvellously until at dinner he said he didn't like cheese. DIDN'T LIKE CHEESE!!!! Wtf?!! No trustworthy person can NOT like cheese. It took all my self control to not walk out. I feel unsettled and worried through the whole of the rest of the date.

Needless to say there was no second date... and I ask people if they like cheese before we go on a date.
