AIBU to LTB over cheese?

I bought ingredients to make macaroni cheese for dinner for DD and myself tonight. DH does not like macaroni cheese but said he would sort himself out.

Made white sauce and cooked pasta. Went to add in the cheese to the sauce.

DH has eaten all the cheese.

LTB?

How did he eat ALL the cheese that you were going to use for MacCheese?

Or do you not put the proper amount in?

And what the fuckity fuck are ONION and HAM doing in MC?

Kpo58 · 30/08/2017 22:44

Make him buy and grate the new cheese.

Barbadosgirl · 30/08/2017 22:45

Does he have any good points?!

ragz134 · 30/08/2017 22:46

Ahh, cross posted. Grated cheese is vile, they add potato starch! YABU.

DontTouchTheMoustache · 30/08/2017 22:46

He doesn't like macaroni cheese? I'd LTB just for that

MollysMummy2010 · 30/08/2017 22:49

Smile - try it before you knock it! It is fab! My DD loves it and I find it a bit dull otherwise. I also put mustard and Worcestershire sauce in the cheese sauce.

Heathen??

Don't care as it tastes lovely and makes it a proper meal for non-veggies.

Ragz - do they???

Will check packaging (next time DH hasn't eaten it and disposed of packet). Sounds gross and assumed it was just cheese!

Don't buy much pre-prepared and didn't realise they would bugger around with it that much.

Joking aside that was a bit shitty knowing you needed some for yours and DD's meal.

Wanker.

NancyDonahue · 30/08/2017 23:03

You must teach him a lesson, as taught by Miss Trunchbull to Bruce Bogtrotter in Matilda..

Buy a 5 kilo block of extra mature cheddar and make him eat the lot.

MollysMummy2010 · 30/08/2017 23:17

Nancy - he is a cheese monster Smile

Mmmm...I like mustard and Worcester sauce in cheese sauce too. We always add chopped bacon into mac and cheese, top with breadcrumbs...try to use at least 3 kinds of cheese too (cheddar, gruyere and whatever else we fancy). Best of all, DH likes to make it! I may have to get him to make it this weekend now...

CoughLaughFart · 31/08/2017 10:31

Please don't call it 'Mac and cheese'.

MaxPepsi · 31/08/2017 10:33

I can't get my head round the fact you had to buy cheese in specially.

Is there not a dedicated cheese shelf in your fridge?? I thought everyone had one of these Blush

SuperLoveFuzz · 31/08/2017 10:35

What did he have to eat that he used a whole packet of cheese?? Shock

SleepFreeZone · 31/08/2017 10:38

My children won't eat pasta readily. I'm reading this an wondering if they'd eat macaroni cheese (I've never eaten it in my life!)

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 31/08/2017 10:43

He ate ALL the cheese? Crime of the highest order Shock

LTB at once!

MollysMummy2010 · 31/08/2017 10:43

Max - I bought GRATED cheese in specially - lazy and don't like grating!!

OP posts:
RhubardGin · 31/08/2017 11:14

Your DH ate a whole bag of cheese in one sitting? That's bad enough!

But then to eat it knowing you were making macaroni cheese for you and DD, what a dick!

LTB

RhubardGin · 31/08/2017 11:15

He doesn't like macaroni cheese? I'd LTB just for that

Yes!

BeepBeepMOVE · 31/08/2017 11:24

How do you run out of cheese?

You clearly don't have enough cheese in your house as standard.

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 31/08/2017 11:33

OP, I really want macaroni cheese now Grin

Hotheadwheresthecoldbath · 31/08/2017 11:39

I think you need to sit down and have a frank talk about this,a refusal to eat macaroni cheese would be a deal breaker for me.Would he consider counciling?
What did you feed the children after their father selfishly are their tea.

Whereismumhiding2 · 31/08/2017 11:56

LTB He ate all the cheese that you told him was for yours and DC's cheese based tea! He'd have been immediately sent out the door to buy and grate more cheese in our house. I bet he ate it all in one mega sandwich ShockGrin

On a more serious note, my XH used to regularly eat whole pack of ham earmarked for our pasta that night as his one 'I'm hungry' sandwich when he got home, followed by a loaded cheese omlette before he asked when I was cooking tea?!. And several times he made steak sandwiches for himself with both our bits of steak ready for tea later that night (that I'd bought in) without blinking or even blushing when I got home later from work. I wish I had LTB for that before we married!!!

Luckily I'm much more attuned to cheesethievery now and have a whole cheese shelf in my fridge. And steak sandwiches are banned in our house.

FeelingAggrieved · 31/08/2017 12:05

Yanbu.

But after this thread, cheese doesn't look like a real word anymore.

wowfudge · 31/08/2017 12:11

No need for grated cheese - just cut it into small cubes. It'll melt just the same.
