Mothercare to be specific. Have given up and am now drinking wine with toddler sat next to me.

You need to facetime an expert I reckon.

Not me - I only used pop up cots - could never figure those bastard things out

TrashPanda · 30/08/2017 22:47

The base still looks like it's flat, parallel to the floor. It needs to be raised up like a mountain. All 4 feet on the floor bunched together. Then you can lift the sides until they click straight. Only then push the base mountain flat.

Orangebird69 · 30/08/2017 22:48

Close it as if you're packing it away. Then DON'T TOUCH THE BASE OR FEET. Make sure the feet are all still close together THEN click sides rigid. Only once the sides are clicked into place should you flatten the base/pull the feet out into position.

TeachesOfPeaches · 30/08/2017 22:49

I have posted photos of end results, not the process. I assure you the centre piece was like Mount Kilimanjaro each time

OK, I believe you now. It's a pile of shite.

TrashPanda · 30/08/2017 22:53

Well then maybe it's actually broken. If all 4 sides are completely rigid when you push the base down, then they collapse. They either aren't clicked in completely or it's broken.

TeachesOfPeaches · 30/08/2017 22:55

It's an absolute piece of shit. The wine is delicious and toddler wondering what this hour is

Another vote here for cosleeping. Just snuggle up in the double bed. There's plenty of room.
My DH and I sleep with our three year old every night in a standard double.

AgentProvocateur · 30/08/2017 23:03

I'm v drunk (yes, on a school night) and my kids are in their 209s, but this thread is making me giggle on the train. I feel your pain, OP - just leave it and drink more wine Grin

AgentProvocateur · 30/08/2017 23:03

In their 20s!!!

Hmmalittlefishy · 31/08/2017 00:19

Get the toddler to do it in the morning
Like childproof locks it may take a child to do!
Hope you all get some sleep

affectionincoldclimate · 31/08/2017 01:15

The fuckery of travel cots AngryAngryAngry
I fully admit to ripping a hole in a side of ours to click it in place after dicking about with it for 45 mins. When you try to fold it back it suddenly refuses to collapse just as it refused to stand straight in the first place.
I now refuse to engage with it and DP is in charge of making sure it's folded out.

Lucyandpoppy · 31/08/2017 01:31

YANBU we stayed in a holiday cottage with 'luxury wooden' travel cots and the toddler hated sleeping in it. So we coslept and it was great. I would vote for cosleeping! (Although probs not tonight if you've had a drink)

TeachesOfPeaches · 31/08/2017 09:30

So ended up 'cosleeping' and luckily the bed is huge. Pushed the bed against the wardrobes but I kept waking as was worried my son was going to fall down the side or off the edge as he is a wriggler.

Flaccid limbed travel cot continues to mock me from the corner of the room Angry

You need one of these beauties: Little Life

walkingtheplank · 31/08/2017 10:14

I'm interested to know whether OP spoke to the owners. I can't eleven they didn't put it up for OP.

walkingtheplank · 31/08/2017 10:15

Oops, didn't see your update. Are you staying another night?

stealthbanana · 31/08/2017 10:31

Sorry OP but this thread is making me laugh. WHY are travel cots so ridiculously hard to assemble? I don't think I've ever managed to put one up properly
