Isn't the intended inhabitant of this travel cot asleep already at this hour? Can they be left where they are?

Im hoping for your sake that the answer to this is yes 🙏🏻

doubleshotespresso · 30/08/2017 22:14

Oh and just a thought.... yes to previous posts at handles and middle base up, but we had one that would only work if all four feet were on the ground-complete nightmare.... but maybe yours is similar?

AnnieAnoniMouse · 30/08/2017 22:16

Think you should call the hosts before it gets any later & ask them to either come & do it, if local or to help you over the phone.

Sensible hosts would have put it up for you (& left instructions for how to put it down if you didn't want to use it). They're bastard things even when they're yours and you 'know' them.

Failing that, put the toddler in your bed & try each method described above. Then when the sunrises & the toddler is ready for the day to begin, you can cry. Or co 'sleep'. You won't get any sleep but you'll drink less 🤣

MaggieSimpson44 · 30/08/2017 22:18

Right, invade this hasn't been said, I've consulted YouTube and they say pull the base right up (so it's a mountain shape in the middle. Then click all four sides in place, then flatten the base and put the mattress in. I think your base is too flat?

ipswichwitch · 30/08/2017 22:18

We had one of those in the cottage we stayed in when DS1 was small. There's definitely a knack to it, and I vaguely remember pulling up the bit in the middle first. There was much swearing and wine involved. DS slept on sofa cushions that night Hmm

walkingtheplank · 30/08/2017 22:23

Ring the owners and ask them to sort it out. They should have put it up in the first place.

BubbleLamp · 30/08/2017 22:25

We have that exact one. Sorry, can't help as it's an absolute motherfucker. I leave it to DH to deal with when we go away while I open the wine. Takes the edge of the cursing and shouting coming from the next room...

confused123456 · 30/08/2017 22:27

We have a graco contour Electra and couldn't recommend it more. We have a additional mattress from Mothercare for it. But it's brilliant. Will be keeping for our next baby.

Amanduh · 30/08/2017 22:28

My mothercare one caused tears until I followed the instructions 😂 Which were... take it from folded up (all sides unlocked, cot folded up ready for travel) then take both short sides and pull them out to standing. Don't touch anything else even to 'check' it..then pull the long sides out. Magically they will then click in to place - it doesnt look like they have but they have! Push middle of base down and the whole thing stands up correctly. It only takes me 2 seconds now.. almost cost me a husband before!

TeachesOfPeaches · 30/08/2017 22:28

Had another stab while toddler hiding in the cupboard. Got two sides up and then back down to one side. Can't take anymore so going to try cosleeping or floorsleeping or no sleeping or something. Cheers Wine

Was given a Mothercare one, throw it away as believed it was " broken". Bought new one. It was "broken" like the previous one!!
Finally worked out how to up.

category12 · 30/08/2017 22:30

Pull up the base properly!

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 30/08/2017 22:31

Oh you're so nearly there!!

Don't blame you for giving up though, hope you manage to get some sleep SadWine

PovertyJetset · 30/08/2017 22:31

It's so sad that I want to know how you're getting on??

Ttbb · 30/08/2017 22:32

Absolutely the worst!

Hmmalittlefishy · 30/08/2017 22:33

Almost there!
Pull the middle bit up more and sometimes if you lift the sides up and then down they click into place. It's just the long sides to do but you need both sides of the joint to be floppy first so unclick the long sides so all floppy, pull them up and down and they should straighten then put the Base flat.

PovertyJetset · 30/08/2017 22:34

Oh fuck it all to hell!!!

I can't put them up either and we always co sleep.... if co sleeping is not an option, try this,

Lift the bottom sheet and put 2 pillows there, replace the sheet. Place toddler on other side of the pillows and up against the wall. A make shift bed guard.

Hmmalittlefishy · 30/08/2017 22:35

Don't blame you for giving up - dh and I had to leave one of us with the dc on the beach while the other drove to get enough Mobile signal to Google how to get the bastarding sun shade pop up tent back in its bag.
At least you have wine and no sand

shamoffour · 30/08/2017 22:37

Right on the two sides that are down, on the right hand side of the white arrow it should collapse a bit more squeeze and wiggle.
Once it's down properly flick up together

oeufdepaques · 30/08/2017 22:39

You can do this! Pull the base up a bit more. Then yank each side up sharply until it clicks. All sides must be clicked into place. Push base down and fit mattress.
I remember trying for about an hour with my sister, aunt and two cousins to get a travel cot up. Once you get the knack it's easy.
If not i would just co sleep!
Good luck Wine

MarmaladeIsMyJam · 30/08/2017 22:41

PULL THE MIDDLE BIT UP! Then snap the side bits up sharply. When they are all locked push the central but down and it will all lock into place

liquidrevolution · 30/08/2017 22:42

Just grab the fucker and waggle it about violently in the air with a frustrated wail. It works for me.

TeachesOfPeaches · 30/08/2017 22:44

Thank you for all of your support in this most arduous of matters. At least we can agree that travel cots are bastards and require at least two people to put the sodding things together.

If single, only works if you're Ollie the Octopus.

category12 · 30/08/2017 22:44

Yes, the base needs to be fully pulled up, as far as it will go. The picture shows it's only up a little bit. (getting a bit frustrated myself here Grin). Then snap out all the sides. Then push the base flat.

TeachesOfPeaches · 30/08/2017 22:46

Yes I have pulled it up completely and keep pulling it up to get each arm in place but the fucker won't comply
