Name labels did not arrive

So annoying.

I ordered name labels for 3 dc. Somehow my house number was not included in the address field, not sure how this happened as I am a keen online shopper and this has never happened to me before, plus I have ordered form the same company before.

So the labels were sent to the following address:

My name
Street name
Postcode

No house number.

Of course i didn't receive the envelope and the company have an attitude that it's none of their concern. as they have sent out the labels on 22 August.

I visited my local Royal Mail distribution center and was told that when the address is not complete mail will be sent back to sender. The company name was stated on the envelope.

So it looks like I lost £35.00 because a house number was not included.

AIBU to think that the company could be a little bit more helpful in locating the envelope and resolving g the issue rather than reiterating that the labels were sent out on 22 aug b first class mail?

So annoyed as i cannot at all afford to loose that much money. Sad

What address was in your confirmation email?

StarUtopia · 30/08/2017 12:39

Is this company Tiny Me? If so, their customer service stinks. Continue to complain and threaten Twitter. They caved EVENTUALLY with me.

Will never touch them again!

Idontevencareanymore · 30/08/2017 12:43

How did you pay? Can you raise a dispute?
The customer service here is non existent so no you're well within your rights to be absolutely fuming.

Titanz · 30/08/2017 12:55

If it's their fault then they HAVE to resend them.

If you used credit card, do a charge back. If you used paypal, raise a dispute.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 30/08/2017 12:57

If you have them the wrong address, then they have fulfilled their side of the contract. As Puffin said, what address was in your confirmation email?

Soubriquet · 30/08/2017 13:04

anxiously awaits company name

I hope you get it sorted OP

Grade1Gardening · 30/08/2017 13:06

The address in the confirmation email did not include a house number.

Unfortunately the confirmation email was sent straight to my spam folder. Which is odd in itself as I receive dozens of promo email from various stores and none of those has ever landed in my spam folder. I discovered it there today after the company advised me to look in my spam folder so it must happen to them quite often.

I appreciate that they have sent the labels and that (maybe) leaving out the house number is my fault though it's odd as I do most of shopping and transactions online and have never mixed anything up before.

But they could have responded in a slightly more helpful manner such as suggesting they heck whether the envelope has been returned to them (which according to Royal Mail it should have).

Instead they reiterate that they have sent the envelope, what colour it was and that it had their company name on it. Not helpful.

It's just so annoying to have sent ££ and not have any labels for school. grr

Paid by cc and the money has been taken from my account. I understand that they have posted the labels but I have not received them. Couldn't they at least try and help me sort this out?

Becca83 · 30/08/2017 13:08

I would put money on this being tiny me! They did the same to me, no street number.
Luckily my postie knows is well so knew it was my name and street, so it was delivered. I've heard their customer service is awful too.

Grade1Gardening · 30/08/2017 13:11

It's not Tiny me on this occasion becca though I am sorry it happened to you, luckily your postman was able to deliver the labels.

Their tone and attitude was straight away defensive, which makes me think that they might be used to mix ups?

In the end there is nothing I can do. I have to order new labels.

Any recommendations?

Soubriquet · 30/08/2017 13:12

I've ordered from nametags4u..already impressed

Put the order through this morning and received an email already telling me they have been made and sent out for posting

Hoping they are as good as the reviews say

If anyone wants to use them there's a 5% discount with FBMUM

Grade1Gardening · 30/08/2017 13:13

I'm after name label stickers rather than iron ons.

It's also annoying as dc all designed their own labels on their system and now won't get the ones they had made. Annoying, inconvenient. but hey. Am in half a mind ordering from them again as I like their stickers but that would stupid, yes?

OP posts:
Soubriquet · 30/08/2017 13:14

They do iron on and stick ons

You can design them too

Dd has chosen a mermaid style for hers

I've ordered the value pack of iron on and stick ons but you can just buy the stick ons

RB68 · 30/08/2017 13:16

Get a rubber stamp with your surname on and some indellible ink and never order them again

Grade1Gardening · 30/08/2017 13:16

nametags4u looks promising!! thanks Soubriquet.

No worries!

Must be frustrating losing money like that though

AuditAngel · 30/08/2017 13:20

I have used Stuck on you (stuckonyou.biz) for a number of years, considering Stamptastic as fed up with ironing on labels, although stuck on you plastic iron on labels are amazing as they weld into the fabric

RB68 · 30/08/2017 13:29

I can recommend stamptastic - quick and easy and good quality - chose a bold font and not the handwriting one though

jenm87 · 30/08/2017 13:31

the law is on your side, you ordered goods and not received them the company needs to offer you either goods or a refund, if you order from any company and it gets lost its the sellers responsibility to make sure they arrive. your covered by credit card they will refund you

Inertia · 30/08/2017 13:33

If you paid by credit card, it might be worth asking your credit card whether they can use the chargeback scheme in this instance. When my DH used this, the cc company refunded his cc and they chased the merchant .

Nope. She ordered goods, and the compamy sent them to the address she provided. The fault is with the OP, not the company.

SunnyNights · 30/08/2017 13:46

Stickins are good and deliver quickly.

TheKidsAreTakingMySanity · 30/08/2017 13:47

As a pp said, have a look at Stamptastic. I ordered just one stamp with our surname as it's a small school and only my three kids have that surname in the school. Saved me a few quid! I don't like iron, stick or sew on labels as they can come off or are just a devil of a job to use.
You can buy any random designed stamp though from any company if you wish and just use the stamptastic ink if you fancy specific stamps.

JanQuadrantVincent · 30/08/2017 13:49

@jenm87 it's not quite a simple as that i'm afraid, and I do think that customers should accept some responsibility for entering incorrect information, not checking confirmation - although I know we all do it!

In this scenario Grade as entered an incorrect address
The company is not to know the address is incorrect, they have sent out the parcel based on the info given
Grade has not received her parcel. What has happened to the parcel determines how Grade should now receive her item
a) The item is returned to the company - in which case they should offer to resend if Grade pays postage costs. If Grade doesn't want to do this then as the item is personalised they do not have to offer a full refund
b) The item is NOT returned to the company - in which case they should raise a 'lost' item query with the delivery service and offer a refund/replacement. They can then pursue reimbursement from the delivery company (NB - RM are rather notorious for not necessarily taking all steps to return lost post to the sender)

With option B the fact that Grade has entered an incorrect address is really neither here nor there, and the company should treat it as such.

It is worth noting that Royal Mail will not consider an item lost until 10 days after the eta date. In this case it does really pay for the company to be apologetic and ask the customer if they would wait the 10 days to see if the parcel is returned to them.

Sorry they are being a bit useless Grade. It can be a bit frustrating when items go missing due to incorrect information but still no excuse for poor CS.
