To think that Houston will be sorted alot quicker than New Orleans was(nt)?

Because Houston is full of rich high tax paying people and New Orleans was full of poor people who can safely be ignored?

I hope the city will be sorted but I can't see how it can be done quickly. I have a disabled friend, relatively safe in a high rise, but worried about running out of food and power.
She's stopped answering, I'm worried she's sitting in the dark. I can't do a damned thing.

Am not sure @expatinscotland just know that its gone, but family all ok (as you can be). Its so awful and upsetting- how are your family? That voting statement I made wasn't a dig at you saying who you voted for, was at the OPs bosom hoiking, almost bloody victim blaming post. And I cant believe I've actually had to write the words victim blaming in reference to a hurricane. How are the rest of you who are out there/family out there?
