I was out yesterday with my children. Dd suddenly tells me she needs the toilet. Holding herself and crossing her legs. We are on a long stretch of road! Nothing but houses! And a bus stop she gets more and more desperate. So I say ok quickly come here find a corner next to the bus stop and let her crouch down. Waiting and I see no wee. So I'm like quickly get up people are coming. You obviously didnt really need to go. As she stands up I see it's a poo!! Not a wee!! Im humiliated. I would never have allowed her to poo on the floor if I had realised that's what it was but she was just holding herself as if she needed a wee! I still feel bad today as it's by the bus stop! Wibu by not going back to clean it. Confused

I don't get why you can't go back now, I do understand the situation at the time though.

Branleuse · 16/08/2017 14:22

Just go back and pick it up in a poobag today. You need to clean it up, then you can forget about it

10greenapples · 16/08/2017 14:28

Not a toddler I'm afraid. She's 7 but does have autism if that makes a difference. It was literally at the time and I panicked!! The people approaching were teens I though they would right take the piss at us.

Glumglowworm · 16/08/2017 14:31

Of course yabu to not go back and clean it, that's disgusting

I get that she's a child and you couldn't predict what would happen but you are an adult and need to take responsibility and clean up after her.

Redadmiralflyer · 16/08/2017 14:33

Honestly. 'Shit happens'.

You were unprepared and thought she was going for an emergency wee.
Forget about it and move on. It's not like you just left it there because you couldn't be arsed cleaning it up but because it's not everyday your toddler shits by the bus stop.

So what if people are grossed out. It's not q massive deal. The rain will wash it away if it's runny. Just next time carry some wipes or take toddler to toilet more often but it sounds like she got an urgent upset tummy and that it won't happen again.
Don't feel bad just laugh

Redadmiralflyer · 16/08/2017 14:34

Sorry just read that she's seven. I still stick with my original opinion Grin

goldensyrupisshit · 16/08/2017 14:39

When you gotta go you just gotta go. Would people rather she left her child to shit herself ?

Aridane · 16/08/2017 14:42

Gross

maxthemartian · 16/08/2017 14:42

This has brought back a memory from last week of being confronted by the sight of someone wiping their child's arse after they had crapped right by the outside tables by the river next to the Tower of London.
No they didn't pick it up either.

candypanda283 · 16/08/2017 14:43

You'll look back and laugh at this when she's older. Dont worry :)

Deemail · 16/08/2017 14:44

This parenting lark is a learning curve to us all. You experienced something must of us wouldn't be prepared for and "fled" the scene through embarrassment and not having any immediate means of sorting it out.
If you can go back today and clean it up do so, maybe bring a big bottle of water in case it needs to be washed away rather than picked up.
Stop beating yourself up about it and move on. It's not like you make a habit of allowing your children to defecate in public.

teaandakitkat · 16/08/2017 14:45

Leaving a kids poo on the pavement is pretty bad but I'm not sure what else you could have done really if you didn't have a bag or anything to clean it up with. Try and push it into the gutter with your foot? Sounds grim. In an ideal world we would all be prepared for every eventuality but these things happen.

ButtHoleinOne · 16/08/2017 14:49

When dog owners leave shit behind, it's rarely a one off and they were expecting a shit.

This was hopefully a one off and as it's England sure to wash away soon

10greenapples · 16/08/2017 15:05

I was thinking of taking a bottle of water and 'washing' it into the road!

If it was a residential street I'd have knocked on someone's door and asked for some kitchen-roll or something. So gross to just leave it!

SunnySkiesSleepsintheMorning · 16/08/2017 15:17

Just clean it up now and accept it was one of those things. Unfortunately, shit does literally happen.

lackingimagination · 16/08/2017 15:23

OP, it's kind of hilarious, it's fine, it happened, don't worry about it, it's obviously not ideal but some things can't be helped.

sweetbitter · 16/08/2017 15:32

Don't beat yourself up, you obviously couldn't predict the situation and and if you had nothing to clear it up then what could you do. It would take someone much braver than me to do as a pp suggested and knock on a random house to ask for a bucket of water to wash away the poo your 7 year old did unexpectedly in the street outside their house!

Ideally you should go back and clear it up if it's not too difficult to get back there. But if you had no tissues/bag/bit of paper etc at the time I don't think you had much choice than to leave it.

cowssheephens · 16/08/2017 15:39

Chill OP. You didn't know it was going to happen and bless her she physically couldn't hold it in.

Is her bowlel normally quite loose? Lots of children/adults with ASD gave a link with IBD...Crohn's and UC.

Winterview · 16/08/2017 15:47

It was an accident. Highly unlikely anyone noticed her doing it. They will assume a dog left it. Don't feel bad, you didn't realise what she was doing and had nothing to clean it up with. It will soon wash away in the rain!

19lottie82 · 16/08/2017 15:48
