Hi NC as its super embarrassing

But WIBU to ask, if anyone knew of any services I can get free sanitary towels? I've just came on today and I'm unemployed and technically homeless (staying with a male friend) and I have lent money off people too often to have anyone to ask lend me some money.

Honestly I wouldn't be asking if I had any options. Someone help please, the cramps are making me feel shit as it is.Sad (In Liverpool by the way)

Foodbanks.
Google your Local Assistance Scheme.
Have you made a benefits claim?

BitOfAProblem · 16/08/2017 10:39

No @dementedpixie I've no one to be able to help out at all. He's not here arm which is why I can stay

Contact your local food bank? Mine definitely has it on the donation list. I'd help if I were closer Flowers

BitOfAProblem · 16/08/2017 10:40

Something in my application keeps coming up as I'm not eligible so can't get a claim

You can get towels for less than a £1 in morrisons and most super markets. I personally wouldn't see my worst enemy go without pads. Please just ask your friend or a neighbour and they will give you the money.

Nomoreboomandbust · 16/08/2017 10:45

I buy sanitary products and shampoo for my local food bank so Google your nearest and go. Flowers

Hope things get better for you love

wotabastard · 16/08/2017 10:46

Family planning maybe?

Imaystillbedrunk · 16/08/2017 10:46

If there is any chance you are in Braintree PM me. I will pick you up some.

wotabastard · 16/08/2017 10:47

She's in Liverpool.

Imaystillbedrunk · 16/08/2017 10:48

Ah didn't read the first post properly.

WorraLiberty · 16/08/2017 10:50

Have got any cloth or flannels you can use?

shouldnthavesaid · 16/08/2017 10:53

Sexual health clinic/family planning might be able to help, or even GP surgery ? Even if its just to cover you until you can get to a foodbank or CAB or something.

There's also bound to be charities in Liverpool targeted towards women in your situation - hopefully they could help too . FlowersFlowers

AlmostAJillSandwich · 16/08/2017 10:55

You can get 2 packs for £1 in pound shop and theyre decent. Sadly this is something homeless women deal with every month, there arent any provisions made by governments etc to get them for free. There are youtube videos made by charities trying to get something set up but atm no theres no current free provisions. I think you would have to be referred to food bank to get any there.

leccybill · 16/08/2017 10:56

Are you on Facebook?
Changing Lives On Ur Doorstep (Cloud) has a thriving Liverpool page of 14,000 members who would be happy to help you out. It's all free.
I use the page in a neighbouring town (mostly give stuff away including food but have had stuff).

GahBuggerit · 16/08/2017 10:57

Is there a local shop, not a chain but an independent one that you could pop in and ask for a pack on credit? They may say no but no harm in asking.

otterlynutty · 16/08/2017 10:57

OP if you would be comfortable using a mooncup please DM your address and I will get one sent by Amazon Prime.

I know this won't help today, but it would be there tomorrow and with it being reusable you shouldn't have to be in this situation again.

bbcessex · 16/08/2017 10:58

Google says there are now free sanitary towels and tampons available to all women free of charge in the toilets of The Guild, Liverpool ..any good for you OP?

shouldnthavesaid · 16/08/2017 10:59

Have googled and there's a group on facebook called The Homeless Period , looks like they could maybe help out if you messaged them? [Flowers]

bbcessex · 16/08/2017 10:59

otterly great idea and very thoughtful xx

BackieJerkhart · 16/08/2017 11:01

If you have an old fleece blanket or cotton t-shirts/sheets you can cut them uk to make your own. Loads of people make their own reusable pads like this. Tutorials on Pinterest or YouTube.

Alexkate2468 · 16/08/2017 11:02

A local church could help you out perhaps. I hope you get sorted.

WorraLiberty · 16/08/2017 11:04

That's what I would do Backie

Slimthistime · 16/08/2017 11:09
