"I argue with people on Facebook all the time but even I'm not brave enough to venture onto that cauldron of hate and judgment mumsnet is the online equivalent of football hooligans going at it."

just found this fb comment on a news link about a thread on here Grin made me laugh

SnickersWasAHorse · 15/08/2017 23:05

I've just skimmed through the engagement ring thread until I got bored. Did the op ever come back?

2017SoFarSoGood · 15/08/2017 23:10

Why that is sheer nonsense. Just the other day a lovely MNetter offered a Glasgow kiss. Another jolly sport agreed it was an entirely suitable response, and joined her in the kind offer.

It totally made up for the person (who was clearly having a very bad day and not to be held accountable in the least) who took the time out of her busy day to tell me "I want to kill you and also * OP" - I'm quite sure she did not mean for me to take it personally. Grin

I posted before I was done. Was very busy rubbing my dry, cracked hands together after poking my cage of MIL's with a sharp stick. One of the bastards offered me a square go.

iver · 15/08/2017 23:15

cage of MIL's Grin hope mine is in there

I prefer crockpot of cunts

Puggsville · 15/08/2017 23:28

Someone on another thread referred to it as the Mumsnet asylum which I thought was rather accurate!

I'm off on holiday tomorrow and might de-reg before I go as I'm fed up of the nastiness, troll hunting and goody fuckers.

Puggsville · 15/08/2017 23:29

Goady not goody,

HelenaDove · 15/08/2017 23:30

Some of the attitudes shown towards social housing tenants on here really fucking stink.

JaneJeffer · 15/08/2017 23:32

Let's be having you...

badbadhusky · 15/08/2017 23:33

Goady not goody

Phew. I was getting worried for Bill Oddie.

Lelloteddy · 16/08/2017 00:07

A moldie not a goody.

Cuntysnark · 16/08/2017 00:16

How many of you lied..

UnderCrackers5 · 16/08/2017 00:55

a lot of mnetters use the anonymity to spout absolute garbage.

KeepServingTheDrinks · 16/08/2017 01:10

Taat - await deletion!

I think it's the idea that people "ought to be in awe" that is giving people the impression of MN that it isn't welcoming or pleasant.

2017SoFarSoGood · 16/08/2017 04:07

In truth I am in awe of most of you. It is heartening to know that such strong fearless women are accessible should I need them. I aspire to be as smart and knowledgeable. And real. Supportive when the chips are down and able to tell you to get a grip when needed.

I've found MN to be a lifesaver and am very grateful.

Nothing beats a hot tub described as swirling chlamydia soup

That was inspired

Mummyoflittledragon · 16/08/2017 04:57

I don't think it's taat. It's talking about a np article. . And I'm one of softies.....

seadragonusgiganticusmaximus · 16/08/2017 05:02

"the online equivalent of football hooligans going at it."

Come and 'ave a go if you think yer 'ard enough!

mathanxiety · 16/08/2017 05:45

...fishes Celtic jersey out from under the cat...

Deploycharitygoats · 16/08/2017 05:49

Read the thread title with bleary eyes and thought it said "Mumsnet's cauldron of hate". Immediately thought "ooh, I have a few submissions for the cauldron". Then I read the OP and thought that the article may have had a point Blush

No-one likes us, we don't care..

Lucysky2017 · 16/08/2017 06:26

Most people are pretty nice to others on here and elsewhere I always find. We might have different opinions on issues over which we feel strongly but on the whole people debate the arguments rather than pick on the people.

martiniwini · 16/08/2017 06:30

Hahaha I'm not surprised it's the engagement ring woman tbh. What did she expect? A load of faceless strangers to say oh only 1300? I'd have expected at least 4K ra ra ra.
Hmm
