Following on from another thread..

Is there anything you said you'd never, ever do but then did?

OP posts:
Birdsgottafly · 14/08/2017 22:46

Allow myself to become obese, then I became disabled and a combination of factors meant massive weight gain.

KickAssAngel · 14/08/2017 22:49

Get married, have a child, be a teacher. Turns out they're the greatest joys in my life!

Oddish · 14/08/2017 22:53

I thought I'd never not love being pregnant. Then hyperemesis struck with DC3 and I'd probably rather die than ever get pregnant again.

SparkyBlue · 14/08/2017 22:54

Like @RippleEffects I was never going to live on a modern estate in a suburb. We were city centre townhouse dwellers. We left the cramped early 1900s townhouse with zero outside space and are absolutely loving our newish build semi complete with lovely neighbours in suburbia.

Treeskater · 14/08/2017 22:58

Run. ANYWHERE. Now halfway through the C25K and loving it!

abigailgabble · 14/08/2017 23:01

Ahhhh co-sleeping. No regrets on that one.

Misericord · 14/08/2017 23:03

Get a cat. Let her sleep in my bed. Call her madam fluffypaws and baby her ridiculously.

Get married. As a bisexual who always preferred women and grew up pre-2000, I never thought it would be possible...

Nestofvipers · 14/08/2017 23:04

Shockers I said exactly the same about Dubai and similarly should have stuck to my guns.

TennisAtXmas · 14/08/2017 23:05

Take a dozen teenage boys out for DSs birthday - i was so shy and quiet when I was younger - I never dreamed i'd dare, but you do stuff for your kids, don't you :-)?
It was fun, and even better when people said later 'wow, I wouldn't have done that!'

SheilaHammond · 14/08/2017 23:06

Let children's clutter take over house...ha ha, can't move for the crapola now.

mygorgeousmilo · 14/08/2017 23:16

Live in a modern house. Now live in one and realise the difference in comfort and convenience that we would have been missing out on otherwise. Where I live, to buy a Victorian or Georgian property gets you about 50% of the size of a modern one at the same price. We've put our own stamp on it and given it life and personality. Plus when we've lived in old ones before they've always been fabulous and full of character, but freezing and a pain in the arse! Soooo very happy with our decision.

LuluJakey1 · 14/08/2017 23:17

Get married and have children. Never wanted to do either. Then I met DH and he wanted to do both. Married 8 years. Two DC.

Rossigigi · 14/08/2017 23:24

Co-sleep now anything for a peaceful night

IHeartDodo · 14/08/2017 23:38

Get back together with an ex (DP wasn't sure about having children, but a month apart changed his mind and now he's all for it! though I want 4 and he reckons 2 )
Get a dog (not a fan but DP has always wanted a German shepherd I think he actually wants 2 but there is a limit )

SomeOtherFuckers · 14/08/2017 23:38

SheSaidHeSaid · 15/08/2017 22:25

Buy a new build house. I should know better due to my job but I still did it (albeit not with a large builder like Barratt, Redrow, Persimmon etc).
