To think if you press the button on the crossing it should be fucking illegal to cross before you get the green man?

If you are stopping the traffic, do not cross when there is a gap in the traffic, you pressed the fucking button so you wait for the green man!

All the stopping and starting adds to the pollution and it really fucks me off when I stop and they have already crossed and are on their merry way!

It can't be just me can it that thinks people who do this are inconsiderate, selfish and rude with no thought for the environment?

nicenewone1 · 14/08/2017 17:15

Yes! For fucks sake. If you press the button, you have to wait. I can't believe you think it's ok to then ignore it and go across when you feel like it

are you not embarrassed that you have stopped all the traffic for nothing. I watch people like you walking away, oblivious as to what you have done

You are akin to children pressing the button for fun with no intention of crossing the road

OP posts:
scampimom · 14/08/2017 17:15

I should point out that I wait for ages with the cars rushing past me, because I am not endowed with traffic-based psychic powers and cannot always predict the distance between cars up the road.

pongoismyhero · 14/08/2017 17:16

Lol this has got to be a troll 😂

scampimom · 14/08/2017 17:17

But I'm not going across "when I feel like it". I'm going where I was always going to go, but a little bit earlier. You stop and wait for me to cross after pressing the button and waiting at the crossing. You still stop for the same amount of time if I've already gone.

How is it fun to press a button past the age of 6?

DressedCrab · 14/08/2017 17:17

You'd have a point if the response was within 30 seconds but sometimes you have to wait up to 4 minutes in the pouring rain. I'll carry on pressing and crossing if there's a break until the response is instant, thanks.

scampimom · 14/08/2017 17:19

"Oblivious to what I have done"

Mwahahahahahahhahaaaaa, oh I'm not oblivious. I'm laughing uproariously and making a mental note to tell all the others at my Super Villains meeting later.

nicenewone1 · 14/08/2017 17:19

Well I learnt to cross the road when I was little, so I don't press the button. I'm a big girl and can get over the road all by myself

OP posts:
scampimom · 14/08/2017 17:20

rubs hands

strokes fluffy white cat

preps the shark tank

53rdWay · 14/08/2017 17:20

oblivious as to what you have done

Made the cars wait the 20 seconds they were going to have to wait anyway?

nicenewone1 · 14/08/2017 17:20

A complete disregard for other road users

OP posts:
scampimom · 14/08/2017 17:21

I take it you are a big girl who IS endowed with traffic-based psychic powers, then?

pongoismyhero · 14/08/2017 17:21

So what you're essentially saying op is that you shouldn't have to stop for pedestrians at all.

Why don't you walk, since driving clearly makes you angry?

RaininSummer · 14/08/2017 17:21

How strange. I drive and walk and nip across in the gaps after pressing the button. What annoys me is not knowing how long is left to cross safely once the green man vanishes. It always seems ages before the red light changes to green for the cars and so I end up having to press again if I have arrived as it changes.

dustarr73 · 14/08/2017 17:21

If it is clearly safe to cross, you go. How can you argue with that? What on earth is the point in standing there staring at an empty road rather than getting on with your journey?

Because its not that easy. Some cars fly down the road, plus im deaf.I wouldnt hear another car coming. So for me i wait. And if that annoys some drivers.Tough shit.

kel1234 · 14/08/2017 17:22

I would not wait for the green man if there is no traffic coming. Sorry op but I have things to do and places to get to.
And tbh, I really don't care about the environment

53rdWay · 14/08/2017 17:22

Probably because walking increases pollution, pongo. OP's doing her bit to keep emissions down by driving! Or something. I've lost track a bit.

I wouldn't worry, the op doesn't either or she wouldn't be driving!

TheSultanofPingu · 14/08/2017 17:23

Your posts just get dafter and dafter Op Grin

whatsthecomingoverthehill · 14/08/2017 17:24

Oh op you really are hilarious. Either that or stupid. I'm picking hilarious.

GahBuggerit · 14/08/2017 17:24

" For fucks sake. If you press the button, you have to wait."

No, no we dont.

Birdsgottaf1y · 14/08/2017 17:25

If I press the button and then there is a gap and I cross, it can mean that I get a earlier bus, which saves me up to half an hour a day,in the rain/snow/hot sun.

It costs the driver no time, because if I wait, they still have to stop.

If you've got a car, your life is so much easier, you can't complain.

What I love about these threads is the way the human race is briefly divided into three distinct and unmixed groups:

Actually the three groups are -

People who can follow simple logic
People who can't
People who don't care

JacquesHammer · 14/08/2017 17:25

are you not embarrassed that you have stopped all the traffic for nothing

No. Especially when it irritates hilarious people like you

53rdWay · 14/08/2017 17:26

We should rearrange things so pedestrians have right of way across crossing points, and drivers have to press a button and wait. Maybe just for a day. Or just for the OP.
