To think if you press the button on the crossing it should be fucking illegal to cross before you get the green man?

If you are stopping the traffic, do not cross when there is a gap in the traffic, you pressed the fucking button so you wait for the green man!

All the stopping and starting adds to the pollution and it really fucks me off when I stop and they have already crossed and are on their merry way!

It can't be just me can it that thinks people who do this are inconsiderate, selfish and rude with no thought for the environment?

I think maybe understanding traffic and emissions and pollution is maybe not your forte?

if a car is driven gently and decelerates towards a changing light and has stop/start ignition and pulls away gently, the impact on emissions will be trivial

if on the other hand the driver is a heavy footed mansplainer, they should not be in my city anyway Grin

Pestilentialone · 14/08/2017 19:46

I don't think my DH is capable of mansplaining how to be an entitled prat. Being a man he his capable of walking and driving.

Have you thought of being a good little boy and logging out of mummy's account?

Seriously, what in the living fuck are you going on about?

TheSultanofPingu · 14/08/2017 19:47

You seem obsessed with blaming pedestrians for air pollution.

JacquesHammer · 14/08/2017 19:48

I don't think a man is capable of mansplaining that.

You're not so.......

But hey. Maybe it isn't your forte

What if you press the green button to go to the shop on the other side of the road to buy a Crunchie, but your bus comes on this side of the road just as the green man lights up? This emissions stuff is so confusing.

Pestilentialone · 14/08/2017 19:50

@nicenewone1 one of your kids needs some attention

Is the OP asking for some mansplaining now? If so sign me up, I'm an expert.

SaucyJack · 14/08/2017 19:55

"It's a case of I'm alright Jack is it?"

Yup. Indeedy.

All's fair in love, war and pedestrian crossings. Every green man for himself.

Lauralou69 · 14/08/2017 19:56

Niceone1 Pray tell us what car you drive? Electric/hybrid......4x4...........diesal..........

Pestilentialone · 14/08/2017 19:56

Go for it Whatsover , you might make some sense.

JacquesHammer · 14/08/2017 19:57

@Lauralou69

Not convinced the OP does. Suspect they're not old enough

SnickersWasAHorse · 14/08/2017 20:01

You are a big girl are you op? I doubt that on both counts.

If you know you're going to cross before the green man, then why have you pressed the button?
Because I don't know that I'm going to cross. There might be a gap in the traffic that I haven't seen yet.

Out of interest what job is it you do that means that you are a professional driver yet you spend 3 hours a day walking?

chickenfraybentos · 14/08/2017 20:01

Today I pressed the button on a busy road and waited, then the oncoming traffic all passed so I crossed on the red man. After I'd done that the green man came on but there was no more traffic so no cars had to stop at all.

Did I... save the environment?!

SisyphusDad · 14/08/2017 20:02

Was reading this with considerable amusement but with no intention of posting until I read

for God's sake ask your husbands about this, they are more likely to get it. Then get them to explain it to you

I think I count as a husband (albeit a widowed one) and I can say that...

I can see the thought process by which you came to your conclusion, and...
You're completely nuts.

Just because jaywalking is a crime or socially unacceptable in some places does not make it a universal law or even sensible. I have seen people in Germany wait at a traffic crossing at 2a.m., with no car in hearing, let alone in sight. That to me is stupid.
