Husband in ambulance.

He's been in hospital for 2 weeks with gallstones. We were on holiday staying near our parents. I came back home and dh was discharged this morning. Plan was he would stay a night with his parents and back home to me tomorrow. Except now something's happened and he's been blue lighted back to hospital.

I'm panicking and need to not google

Please can someone just hug me :,(

The gin bottle is empty and the husband is home!!

Endoscopy went well, they managed to remove more than one stone and fit the stent. He was also diagnosed with mirizzi syndrome...from what I understand this is a stone impacting on the entrance to the gall bladder. Surgery should be in about 6 weeks hopefully. Unsure if this will be open or keyhole now due to the complications.

Thanks for the handhold through everything.

Glad to hear it!
Now you've finished on the gin, start on the wine!

mineofuselessinformation · 18/08/2017 23:15

Oh, that's good news! I've been checking back in here and there and resisting the urge to ask how it's going.
I'm glad you both have a resolution. Flowers

sighs more pain. Ambulance called and he's gone back in. At least this time he's nearby to me.

Let's hope that this brings the op forward. Crappy for you (and him, obviously) but at least you won't have your FIL pouring doom & gloom down the phone. Sometimes that's more stressful (especially if they're like my DM who likes to see a crisis in the smallest of things). Try to relax as much as you can and remember that he's in the right place to get sorted. And it will be sorted sooner or later.

He might see a different doctor this time who will whip it out, fingers crossed X

JaneEyre70 · 22/08/2017 15:44

I had an attack of cholecystitis (gall bladder infection) once, it completely took me to the edge of my pain threshold and sanity. I had 5 days in hospital on Morphine/IV antibiotics and it took months to settle. Worst bit was there wasn't one single gallstone in there and they couldn't understand why I had the infection but it also affected my pancreas and spleen. I hope he's better soon, it's not a nice pain to have.

WhingyNinja · 22/08/2017 16:18

Your poor DH, and poor you! I hope that blasted gallbladder is whipped out soon!

MrsCK · 22/08/2017 17:05

Thanks. It's a different hospital and different trust so I'm praying that they'll decide that all of their interventions aren't working and that they will need to take it out.
He's been in for 3 weeks already and they've already taken more than one stone out as well as knowing there is a stone impacted on the entrance of the gall bladder...so I'm not sure what else there is left apart from to take it out!!

You're right about fil... hopefully my dad will be able to come down and look after my ds(2) for a little bit. Oh the joys of living so far away from parents and not being able to drive!!

How are you getting on, MrsCK? Flowers

MrsCK · 25/08/2017 12:42

He's had to go back into theatre this morning due to complications. No news yet

OP posts:
MrsCK · 25/08/2017 12:42

Realise I hadn't done an update prior to that. He had surgery a few days ago and had it removed.

WhingyNinja · 25/08/2017 17:31

I hope you've had some good news and your DH is comfortable now.

MrsMozart · 25/08/2017 17:43

Just seen this.

Scary for all. Hope you're holding up okay.

A handhold for as long as you need.

Whinesalot · 25/08/2017 17:51

What a nightmare

NeverTwerkNaked · 25/08/2017 18:13

Oh gosh what a horrendous rollercoaster of a time you are having. How is he now? How are you holding up?

DavetheCat2001 · 25/08/2017 18:15

Sending another hand hold and positive vibes your way MrsCK, hope husband is home soon x

LetBartletBeBartlet · 25/08/2017 18:39

I'm sorry that he's been back in theatre, hoping all has gone well today and wishing your dh a speedy recovery Flowers

AliTheMinx · 25/08/2017 22:34

Oh goodness! What a nightmare. Hope all ok, OP? Big hugs Flowers

MrsCK · 26/08/2017 18:11

Thank you. I had a big cry last night and my sister came over to help with my toddler. I'm just exhausted both emotionally and physically.

He's had the op yesterday and whilst that went well he's still very poorly.

OP posts:
MrsMozart · 26/08/2017 20:17

Everything remains tightly crossed lass.

LetBartletBeBartlet · 26/08/2017 20:27

Are you looking after yourself - remembering to eat etc? I hope that the big cry helped, even just a little.

I hope that your dh has a settled day, and is stable. Do they have A Plan, or is it just watching and waiting at this stage?
Sending strength to you and your family.
