Tesco Delivery Lurch

Yes I have the same issues. If it is a man i recognise from previous deliveries I would be inclined to ask to drop off in kitchen.

Usually though I have it dropped just inside doorway then they cannot get past! Although I then have to bend over/down to stack it on floor.

Several times I have had lewd comments like "nice legs" or staring st cleavage. We have a photo of family in doorway and once someone said "fuck me you scrub up well" I was so shocked i just smiled and said thank you. Next time I answered in my dressing gown which is full length up to collar! and husband loitering near door!

Makes me feel stupid to feel unsafe to allow them into home to place in kitchen. I am on my own normally when they come so just don't feel safe to do so.

You wouldn't normally let a stranger in your home when alone, so what difference if he is carrying your shopping!

If a delivery person made any of these comments then report them straight away.

WindyWednesday · 11/08/2017 16:46

I have deliveries from Waitrose, Sainsburys and Ocado.

But Tesco delivery men made me feel very very uncomfortable.

Saucery · 11/08/2017 16:47

Letch! You mean letch

Mummaofboys · 11/08/2017 16:54

That's awful, I'd be ringing customer services to complain and getting my husband to open the door!

ElfrideSwancourt · 11/08/2017 16:56

I used to use Tesco and there was one delivery person who was just too over-familiar, hard to put my finger on it but he always gave me the creeps. I always just unpacked my shopping at the front door and didn't let him into the house. I use Ocado now and they have all been lovely and very helpful.

RoseDog · 11/08/2017 16:59

I get a Tesco delivery every week, I've never had any comments like that they either just ask me where my dog is or if I could please shut her out the room cos they are shit scared of her depending on the driver Confused

If anything inappropriate was said I would probably complain or set scary dog on them

GwenStaceyRocks · 11/08/2017 17:04

As PPs have said, if a driver makes you uncomfortable then complain. Also consider using a different service.Putting on a dressing gown, isn't really the solution.
I've used Tesco for years and never had an issue. We used to have a lovely older driver who'd chat to the DC and remember their interests. It's very unfortunate that you've had a succession of inappropriate drivers. Flowers

HipsterHunter · 11/08/2017 17:05

I've never had any issues with Tesco delivery drivers. They are usually super helpful and nice normal people.

stevie69 · 11/08/2017 17:10

I've had many different drivers from Tesco and they've all been great. No problems at all.

Medeci · 11/08/2017 17:16

How weird, do you usually get someone to come and stay with you when tradesment come?
I often let strangers in when I'm alone as long as I'm expecting them. Today had two young men at separate times wandering round the house to give estimates for work that needs to be done, and a more mature man to repair patio door lock and sort the wonky doors out.
It never occured to me to be bothered by this.

ohh · 11/08/2017 17:18

SO sorry everyone. I was replying really to the thread. I have reported the drier to Tesco and he was moved areas. Might get my reusable bags ready next time so I pack my loose shopping into them.

I was mainly asking if people let them into their homes.

Typing in a rush whilst listening out for children..... English is my first language.
Grin

Oh!!!

Yes, I let them in to my kitchen.

SunnySkiesSleepsintheMorning · 11/08/2017 17:33

Maybe he thinks every little helps.

WeAllHaveWings · 11/08/2017 17:39

Yes I let the Tesco man in, he's not a stranger as such as you know he is the man that works for Tesco, not just some random who has knocked on your door.

Ours are always polite, chatty and the dog usually gets a nice pat. If they make inappropriate comments that make you uncomfortable report them.

Confused009 · 11/08/2017 17:41

Use Sainsburys

ohh · 11/08/2017 17:45

I think its mainly my darling H that causes me to think like that as he says tryst no man... Women can be weird too!

Thinking back a few years...i let them in kitchen as had baby in arms and they put it all on counter and in fridge!

Should be a bit more trusting...

HookandSwan · 11/08/2017 17:47

I do yes, they are harmless people doing their job?

fairgame84 · 11/08/2017 17:51

I try and save them time. I have a washing basket and unload it from their crates into the washing basket at the door. They can then get on their merry way. They only have a very limited time to do each delivery apparently.

ohh · 11/08/2017 17:56

fairgame84. Gosh a limited time? I probably vary between minimum 5 crates to 8!

Never told there was a time slot issue! Especially as I don't have bags. Takes forever to chase around spice pots or loose onions etc Smile

Will ask them to take in net time I think. Especially as they always block the road even thought told not to on order! Angry

my darling H that causes me to think like that as he says tryst no man..

Your dh sounds paranoid, why on earth would you say that to a woman who already appears anxious.

ohh · 11/08/2017 18:26

WeAllHaveWings

I think its mainly the people he used ti hang around with when he was a teenager to be honest.

DH also had 6 sisters so was probably brain waved.

10greenapples · 11/08/2017 18:35

As I said I don't a lot of them just automatically hand it to me at the door, some do ask where I want it. But I guess they get a mixture.

pinkblink · 11/08/2017 20:28

You reported him and he has been moved areas? Already? Since this afternoon? Wonder how the personnel managed to schedule a meeting with him and a union rep to discus the complaint and send out a letter so quickly.

Also it would be gross misconduct and he would be sacked not moved if he was found guilty

TmiTuesdays · 11/08/2017 20:56

Saucery Thank you! Was driving me nuts trying to work that out

RestlessTraveller · 12/08/2017 08:03

I'm assuming that when your husband says 'trust no man' he means himself as well, or is he the one perfect specimen in a sea of twats?

He sounds like a controlling fuckwit to me.
