To have BF rage about friend being asked to cover up by boys..

I honestly thought I was over the BF rage phase of my life.

My friend was asked to cover up after BFing on the school run, and the reasons given was that some 9/10 year old boys were complaining it made them uncomfortable.

Now I get maybe they were scapegoated...but wtaf is the world coming to when 9/10 year old boys get the last say on how an adult woman feeds her baby while dropping her older child to school?

I have such rage.

Breasts are for feeding babies. The school are being ridiculous.

Not evil - breaststroke are fur feeding babies but there's no denying that for centuries they have been sexualised. That isn't a recent development in the last 100 years, it's been going on forever. Although progress needs to be made to reclaim breasts from their sexualisation back to their function of means of feeding a baby, it isn't going to happen overnight and it's naive to think that just saying it makes it so through all realms of society. This is not to say I agree with the breastfeeding naysayers or that change doesn't need to happen (of course it does) but until women feel as confident walking around with no tops on in the street like men do in hot weather, with breasts on show, because they are just for feeding so why should we feel shy about them - we are all still promoting to a degree that breasts are sexual objects that need covering (or promoting for show or admiration, with cleavage and push-up bras etc) whether we are breastfeeding or not.

Seriously most boys this age are running around playing or talking, I am very surprised that they even notice what she is doing
