I had a follow up appointment with the dr today, to discuss my test results. (Gastric problems for weeks.) She wasn't sure if one of the test results (stool sample) had come back or not but said she'd follow it up.
Someone from the surgery hand delivered a letter this evening stating I should contact the surgery and see my dr to discuss my test results URGENTLY! I also saw a couple of missed calls from them this afternoon.
Tell me someone else has had this happen to them and it turned out to be nothing?

Not a letter, but about three weeks after giving a stool sample, the doctor rang me at home at gone 7.30 pm. He sounded proper cagey too, and asked how I was in a very hesitant fashion.

It turned out that I, too, had had campylobacter. He was furious with the hospital because the results should have been back within 72 hours, and campylobacter can lead to something called Guillain-Barre syndrome which affects the nerves and can be life threatening!

Hopefully, you'll just need some antibiotics or something.
